Happy 2nd Anniversary!

I also recognize the issues at launch were definitely the greater priority. We’re in a relatively good place now from what I can tell. Crafting rework was finally done after all, and most of the complaints I see now are related to MTX or Balancing (which never go away lol), so now would be a perfect time for them to do an apology announcement with an update on Solo Mode being their next major task.

Agreed! Especially with the PS5 launch.

That is a purposely reductive and inaccurate retelling of a much longer and in depth conversation that took place. I stand by the sentiment that, wherever possible, you should do the right thing for its own sake, no matter how big or small the context or who you are.

Then they should come out and say that. Everything else is speculation by the community. Even if it’s correct, it doesn’t matter. It’s not our job to guesstimate what they’re doing, they should be telling us. Especially when they say one thing, don’t do that thing, and then say that same thing again later without further explanation. To be so lax in your expectations is only going to reinforce this god awful status quo we are in with this studio that absolutely no one is happy with.

Transparency is not an unattainable goal.

Yes! I can’t believe I forgot about that.

The below is literally the first thing you posted on a thread meant to be about how additional cosmetics could be added as free rewards in game:

I think, ultimately, where we disagree is that the notion that “the right thing” is, actually sometimes (and maybe often), subjective. In the case of the other thread, Reguah believes he is “doing the right thing” by supporting a game he enjoys by a company he wants to support, even if he wishes the prices were cheaper and the shop didn’t rotate.

Don’t be disingenuous.

He made the case that he’s supporting the game. Others made the case that by buying every piece of MTX cosmetic he was contributing to the continuation of a system that is almost always sketchy if not outright predatory and that he shouldn’t be doing that. He then responds that even if he stopped it wouldn’t matter because other people would still do it. Thus the whole “do it anyway because it’s right” thing became the focus of the conversation.

Don’t be disingenuous. That’s enough of this because now we really are getting off topic.

As far as solo mode goes I think they should come out with an explanation as to why it was delayed without an explanation beyond “it’s not our focus right now” which doesn’t count as that is self evident by it not having been implemented in the game. Especially when they said it was around the corner. Corners usually don’t take multiple years to get around.

You clearly haven’t seen the drivers in my area.

I believe you have ignored the crux of what I was saying in my previous reply, that Reguah doesn’t believe he’s not doing the right thing and rather believes he is doing the right thing by supporting the game he enjoys. That is evidenced by the rest of his comment:

But, yes, we are off topic again (like in the previous thread) and we can end this here!

To be fair to Fatshark, I thought 2 player private games on the servers was generous.

It’s such a huge difference between peer to peer (where literally your PC acts as the server) vs server hosted in a data center.

It’s not like they shut down vermintide 2, if you want to solo with bots it’s there for you.

I also agree that this decision should have been made sooner and communicated much better as they did say they would have solo play in Darktide.

Fatshark should add permanent supporter packs that cost 100$ USD to the game, let’s see how many people do the right thing and support a dev they like if it’s not tied to psychologically abusive FOMO strategies.

Ugh snore.

I’d buy a fat pack of cosmetics. Many would. It works in other games, why wouldn’t it in this one? It’s a hell of a game.

True, and I’ve played VT2 solo or with my friend instead of DT because it’s the only option. But sometimes I want to purge heretics with a flamer or Cleave them with an Eviscerator and I can’t do that in VT2.

Not to mention the gunplay in DT is vastly superior to VT2

I would gladly do that, I imagine those supporter packs would actually be worth the money compared to other cosmetics I’ve paid for so far.

Crazy how everyone would totally do it yet no business strategist at fatshark nor at any other large high profit corporation decides to offer it. They must all be stupid. Why do they keep doing FOMO if all the consumers buying FOMO would totally buy even more if it wasn’t?? A mystery

FS has a static FOMO-free shop in VT2. DRG sells cosmetics packs. What are you on about, in this thread about solo play?

I didn’t bring it up!

Wow, so Fatshark has a direct comparison of a non-FOMO system to a FOMO system and they have statistics that indicate exactly wether or not it’s selling better and they’ve continued doing it for 2 years? Even though all the FOMO purchasers say they’d buy more without it, even those who already bought every single FOMO rotation? I wonder what the conclusion we can pull here is

Technically, you can play solo if the queue is empty. And yes, you can play a private game with friends. You can also hard-lock solo if you invite a friend, start a game and boot them. Also, there are mods for this so you don’t have to do either AFAIK.

But yeah, cheers!

Two years. That seems so weird to me. I’ve gone through a lot in two years. In one of those two years, I graduated college. I even made an effort behind the scenes to try and get a concrete answer. No dice, just the usual “it is not a priority”.

All I want, and all I have ever wanted, is information. A concrete answer on whether it is going to happen or not. Scipio’s said on multiple occasions that a definitive answer would be enough, and I agree.

Just give a direct answer.

Yes, but they also charge you for all the DLC/classes.
