@FatsharkQuickpaw It would have been nice to tell us our talents will be reset BEFORE the update and avoid us spending an hour or 2 just recreating and rememorizing our builds.
Outside of that great update in all aspects i will have my fun in the next days.
Last time I played after the the last big patch I spent a considerable amount of time re-doing and fine tuning all my builds. And now it’s gone again? Thanks.
Honestly, this is such a let down that I’m just not going to bother playing for a while until there is more stuff worth coming back for.
Also, totally misread the OP regarding missions. At first glance it sounded like it was THREE new mission, which would’ve been an amazing surprise. Instead it’s bundling two prior missions into a campaign and the the operation is like 0.5 of a mission added.
Builds broken, limited new content, DLC content I’m not enthused about, not much for me this time around unfortunately.
So being cautiously optimistic that they might start addressing the biggest and most consistently complained about problem the game has (that in addition to being FOMO it’s completely unhinged in how you can’t earn ‘premium’ currency) is ‘complaining’ now?
Or did you just see me post something and automatically assume it was negative without actually reading? Are you one of those kids who learned from the 3-cueing method in school and now you have to just assume from context what words actually mean?
Great that we have a new level, but the whole “Three new levels!” thing just to end up with two levels we already had and a new 3rd leaves a bad taste in my mouth that adds a bitter little fringe to the tip of my tongue and I don’t like it.
All that said, most of what we have here is solid - like, I’m gonna get this at some point - and I understand that the gangers are much more bespoke than the other classes in terms of class identity, and that takes work, but everything else in here has left me wondering what else they’re working on over there and why the other changes we did get, given how small they are, took so long.
The balance changes amount to a tweak to the Arbitrator’s lightning puck and bugfixes for a busted Havoc modifier and a busted weapon. All that’s fine and good, the Arbitrator puck and Rotten Armor needed tweaking, but Arbitrator’s been out since the summer and Rotten Armor has apparently been broken for months and months with no recourse until now.
It’s great that we can move blitzes and stuff around on the talent tree board without having to redo our builds, but again we’ve all been doing that through mods for a significant period of time. Why did this take so long? (And c’mon, man, if you’re gonna leave the current game balance largely intact then at least let us know you had to wipe talents to make this happen before the patch launches, like c’mon bro.)
I’m sure the level and the class took a lot of work, and these other changes are wholly welcome. I’m just left wondering what took you guys so long for most of them and why there haven’t been any other balance changes so far. Is there an expected shift in the meta for whatever comes out next, whenever that is?
That is what I am afraid of. In that case, I am extremely sorry that I paid money to FS and I humbly apologise that I am here, waiting to have the possibility to do that again…
If you want to assume basic competency, they don’t want to unleash major balance changes on top of a class being added after Arbites broke stuff just before a vacation - less they have to juggle that way.
And that’s totally fine, of course, but they should at least say something or address it. I’m willing to accept less content if I can use the rest of Darktide’s arsenal of builds and weapons during higher level play, right now you really can’t.
Finally, we can switch grenades and auras without having to redo the entire talent tree every time. Awesome!
Also glad to see an Aquila reward making a return in the upcoming event. Hope that it’ll be more common, even if it isn’t 500 of ‘em. Should be a constant small trickle of ‘em to reward players who constantly engage with your game. Heck, maybe even the Melk weekly’s should reward a small amount on top of the Ordos.
