Executioner’s stance highlights are disabled while standing inside pox gas from newish pox bombers.
Haven’t tested with other pox gas sources, caught me by surprise today.
Steps to Reproduce (Required):
Activate executioners stance
Get pox bombed
Watch highlights disappear
its normal and intended, it also happens on the map modifier. Wish they would remove it though, the gas is intrusive enough even if they wouldnt disable pings/ES.
We can highlight enemies in vent purge just fine, why not pox gas?
Seems kinda unbalanced if it disables veteran’s combat ability and keystone and no one else’s. Normal pings, sure, I can understand that, but disabling a combat ability and keystone? That seems broken af, even if intended.
I’ve been meaning to make a general discussion/feedback topic on particle effects including pox gas, namely how ungodly opaque it is on low particle settings, yet at high they’re merely a visual nuisance.
So it feels like double punishment, first for playing vet with that combat and/or keystone, and second for having the audacity to turn down particle effects for the 20fps it gives back on my rig.
I get that now, but it still seems to me to not make any sense from a gameplay perspective: it’s singling out and punishing one class and two of its talent nodes disproportionately. Zealot or ogryn charge aren’t having the range reduced, or anything similar. Psyker can highlight enemies through the fog with the warpfire shriek augment. It’s just Vet getting shafted for reasons.
I can make up a few lore mcguffins to explain it, but from a gameplay perspective, it just seems like such a poor choice to single out vet like that.
