Why does the heavy sweep do more damage than the heavy strikedown in virtually all instances? Also the damage distribution between the strikedown and lights also makes no sense and are useful only in their finesse modifier but it still makes zero sense that its base damage is basically lower than the vanguard sweep attacks.
When you hit an enemy you can’t cleave through with the Heavy 2, the weapon will get stuck and keep chainsawing that enemy, hitting them about two times total. The light attacks do not exhibit this behaviour, so while their damage numbers are comparable, their actual DPS is lower. The Heavy 1 also does this, but it has higher cleave, so it will often not stop when hitting single enemies.
Using non-activated Heavies against anything not in Carapace, simply using chain heavies will do more DPS than doing just Heavy 1 and QQ cancelling.
The Heavy 2 can also be chained into from an activated Heavy 1, which can often be faster than throwing out another activated Heavy 1.
