Thats so bad-ass i really want a girl-foe now
The rejects work for an Ordo Hereticus inquisitor. There should also be Xenos prisoners involved in this. Inquisitors use Daemonhosts in lore as their minions ffs. With the sheer number of sanctioned psykers Grendel has available, he’s on the vastly more influential side of Inquisitors. He should absolutely have access to a number of Xenos prisoners as well. Not to mention Skitarii, but it took 30 months for us to get one new class that’s still not that outrageously different.
We still don’t even have a plasma pistol. Or a hotshot volley gun. Or a longlas. What the absolute hell is taking so long?
I agree.
But Arbites are my favourite so there’s little else I’d personally want from DT outside of narrative updates etc.
Hopefully most people get their dream class at some point, I know I just did!
When will they discuss implementing cross-save? It’s very necessary.
Radical Ordos Xenos inquisitors are generally the ones that make use of xenos assets and radical Ordos Malleus inquisitors are the ones that make use of daemonhosts.
If Grendyl is a radical Ordos Heretical inquisitor then it’s likely the Admonition may have been something Grendyl themselves created to further their own goals but then the cult succeeded in getting the attention of Nurgle, based on other radical Ordos Heriticus inquisitor’s MO.
I had to dive into some search queries to get an idea within research of how a character that would be antisocial and in a “law dog” occupation, there are examples in cinema:
One well-known example of a movie cop exhibiting antisocial behavior is Alonzo Harris from the film Training Day. Played by Denzel Washington, Harris is a veteran narcotics officer who is deeply corrupt and utilizes unethical and violent methods in his work.
Examples of Alonzo Harris’s antisocial behavior:
- Brutalization of criminals: He resorts to violence and intimidation to extract information or maintain control.
- Encouraging vigilantism: He advocates for criminal gangs to use violence to resolve their own disputes.
- Murder and theft: He murders an informant drug dealer and steals their money.
- Power trip: Harris’s behavior stems from a dangerous sense of power and control.
Note: Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) is a diagnosis characterized by a pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others. Symptoms of ASPD, according to the DSM-5-TR, include a failure to conform to social norms and laws, deceitfulness, impulsivity, irritability and aggression, reckless disregard for safety, consistent irresponsibility, and lack of remorse. While it is difficult to definitively diagnose a fictional character, Alonzo Harris’s actions align with several of these diagnostic criteria
Note: I did have to go through some search engine inputs to query the answers, since I was intellectually challenged at the moment of attempting to comprehend the personality that would match The Maul personality. With knowingly the Arbites are very adverse to corruption, I failed to realize that an Arbites can have its own corrupted views in the perspective that they are capable of twisting The Lex Imperialis to meet their own personal agenda rather than the “by the book” where The Lex applies to everyone including the conduct of Arbites. The Maul may exhibit behavior of “I Am The Law” but it only applies to their own personal interpretation and power trip cruelty.
Alonzo from Training Day fits The Maul lol
Makes me think of Rorschach from watchmen not exactly law tho…but his own
Yes that seems to fit too!
For now with all I have culminated I have been able to compile this as my comparisons via cinematic characters:
The Maul being Antisocial is going to possibly seem like Denzel Washington’s character Alonzo Harris from Training Day
Uses the Lex Imperialis to make his own personal interpretation and power trip to fit their personal agenda
They be as cruel as Darth Vader and rage out upon anyone standing in their way. “Spilled some recaf on my boots?” Snags the recaf out of hand, downs it, draws shotty on culprit and “BLAM!”
They may be “the law” and “above the law” yet they go to even greater lengths of bending and twisting it in contrast go the by-the-book Authoritarian
Judge Dredd is absolutely the Authoritarian, he is by-the-book and doesn’t want to leave any room for errors no matter what, and to the point that he does not regard himself as one to be hesitant upon any human emotion
Meanwhile the Fatalist is like Morgan Freemans character Detective Somerset in the movie “Se7en”
Their view is that everything in the matter of the events are inevitably unavoidable
The Fatalist seems like they feel aware that no matter what they do, the heretics will keep doing exactly what they want to do that brings down the curtains upon Tertium
Well, if Grendyl follows the most common Inquisitor path, then he’s been possessed by DH and is now Leading Admonition.
Rannick is simply following Grendyl’s teachings and fights the tide as usual…
If this is true… The ROCK can solve the problem.
“Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon.”
assuming the voice in the trailer is the maul i doubt he’s anti-imperial cult because he seems to be very pro imperium (shouting “Fight like a true vessel of the lex imperialis!” mid gun battle for example)
also if you dont mind me asking, where are you getting this about one of them being iconoclaustic to begin with? i ctrl+f’d “icon” and nothing comes up in the announcement
I love that the arbitor will not be forced into an immersion breaking reject background. This new class might actually bring me back to Darktide! (And may elevate my arbites killteam to a higher place on my painting schedule :))
If we dlc classes diverge from reject background there is suddenly is lorewise a large amount of opportunity for further expansions.
No, he’s a worshipper of the new Ruinous Power: Kardinac, Lord of Sarcasm.
You’ll see - Mournigtstar NPCs will drop hints, and the FOMO shop will have a lot of ironic hipster-style cosmetics.
Several man in the cell were discussing the reasons for their imprisonment.
Veteran A: “I was imprisoned because I questioned the bishop’s extravagant and indulgent life. ”
Veteran B:“ I was imprisoned because I said the food was smelly. ”
At this moment, the two looked at the other person and asked, “Buddy, how did you get in here?”
The man spoke slowly :“I’m the Arbitrator who imprisoned you. After reading your cases, Lord Guilliman decided to lock me in as well.”
This is going to be a hard choice. Will have to see which lines are probably the most amusing.
This is exactly it! It makes perfect sense as the battle for Atoma rages on, certain units or resources will start to be drawn into the fray.
I think most ‘classes’ beneath Astartes level could justifiably make their way into Atoma at some point.
Ohh, I’d be hard-pressed to not join that cult!
“I’m not locked in here with you, you’re locked in here with me.”
