Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have Xenos weapons. Ordo Hereticus are commanded to destroy chaos by any means possible at their disposal. Salvaged Tau, Eldar, Votann and maybe a few other types of weapons should be available.
But that’s putting aside the fact that if you go through Battlescribe and look at the weapons the Guard can take, Darktide still has less than a fifth of the options you can put together in even a 10th edition army. The fact there’s no plasma pistol alone should have the community in arms, but…whatever, I guess. Nobody cares so long as lip service is paid. Screw us getting a Hellgun, where’s my hotshot volley gun, huh, Fatshark?
I’m also just going to point out once again that I expected to have five or six new characters released by now. This should be #7. That we should have been surprised to release so quickly after the Skitarii, or the Sister Repentia that they released in March, but nah. Nobody still playing the game cares about the game getting regular, high quality updates. As long as we’re thrown a bone of any shape, we can crack our teeth trying to gnaw on it, Fatshark’s basically just laughing that we’re thinking there’s still big things in store for the game they have no desire to prioritize.
But we are no army, we’re rejects from a destroyed Arbites prison ship sheltered on a Rogue Trader ship currently requisitioned by the Inquisition.
Though while the Rogue Trader could have any kind of weapons in their arsenal, Xeno and Imperial, we’re at the bottom of the food chain and have to go by the bread crumps they deem as expendable as we are to them.
I think that’s somewhat incorrect. By the time any given Reject hits level 20 they’re being entrusted with rarer gear like specialized force staves, power swords, plasma weapons, bolters, et cetera. These are very much not ‘bread crumbs’ but actually rare and powerful weapons, usually given to sergeants and officers of the Guard at the lowest and the domain of Inquisitors able to custom-make their gear at the highest.
True, but I’m pretty sure we’re still getting busted up old gear, like power swords that can only stay charged for 15 seconds…possibly because whoever wielded those weapons before is dead. We know our forces are scrounging weapons from our fallen troops based on one of the cutscenes.
The Inquisition implements anything they can implement at their disposal of choice. Right, that’s the facts. I don’t think there’s many people that understand Warhammer 40,000 as much as true fans like myself do lmao
We are a penal LEGION. We aren’t an organized Guard force, yes. That’s true. But Penal Legions aren’t made up of like, 80 people and a cook with a ham sandwich. They’re called a legion because the Imperium dumps tens of thousands of prisoners into them, and a high ranking Inquisitor can absolutely demand more and resupplies of personnel to replace who’s fallen. Its the Imperium. The only thing more plentiful than prisoners in a penal legion is the Sister’s faith in the Emperor in a SoB battalion. There should be at minimum, 10k of troopers fighting for Grendyl, at minimum. That’s probably how many Scions he has. We’ll never know that, because Fatshark won’t tell us a damn thing that Dan Abnett wrote for this game, but its ridiculous to call a penal legion not an army based on the number of people on the Mourningstar in one instance? Sure.
We work for a high tier Ordo Hereticus inquisitor. We are fighting the greatest enemy the Imperium has. Grendyl would be a laughingstock if he didn’t use anything and everything available to him to ensure that the forces of chaos were defeated. Including rare, expensive, and salvaged weaponry from other races. If we die with it, good, one less impure Xenos relic sitting around the Mourningstar. More room for sanctioned weapons.
