Backstab Sound Cue not playing properly

Could be a server/client latency issue, but very often, the sound of melee backstab cue is played at the same time the attack hits, sometimes is not played at all.

Dreg sniper shot sound cue seems inconsistent, sometimes it plays 0.5 second before the shot, sometimes it’s 0.25sec (could be difficulty related ? Damnation seems to have a shorter warning than lower difficulties… or am I crazy). And if you’re not the target but behind someone who is, no sound cue at all (could be intended).

While I do not have this problem (it is played ALL THE TIME, so much it does not even help, because there are ALWAYS attacks), I too noticed that some cues, sound, actions/ inputs do not work properly sometimes (like with the interrogator or dodging the hound/ mutant)

Same experience, as for the sound not playing. I got the (false?) impression it was only happening when I’m wielding a ranged weapon instead of a melee weapon. Once I came up with the potential cause why I wasn’t hearing the audio cue, I started not noticing it anymore, but with it possibly being tied to latency, it might be something else entirely.

Still happening frequently, not a server latency issue

timestamps : no sound cue at : 2.0sec, 4.0sec and 14.sec.

but we can hear the sound cue at 5.0 and 7~8sec.

Thank you for your report! The clips really help. Could you please provide us with some files to help diagnose the issue? Need your launcher log file, your user_settings.config file, and some console logs of a session where this happened, if possible.

Upload Console Log:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\console_logs
  4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names
  5. Upload here

Upload darktide_launcher.log and user settings:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide
  4. Locate the darktide_launcher.log and user_settings.config in this directory
  5. Upload here
