Arbites Class reveal feels weird/does not fit within the established context of the game

Yeah but when the chips are down and Nurglings are popping up in your kitchen raiding your corpse starch, that’s an everybody’s problem.

It makes sense to me that the Arbites would have been well aware of a guard regiment falling to heresy and using the railways to launch terror attacks, but hang back to continue policing the rest of the Hive since by now Atoma has two off-world regiments of guardsmen and an Inquisitorial warband fighting to contain the uprising. If the war has gotten worse, then why not have more loyalists fighting?

my thoughts exactly.

this whole effort, costs, warband equipment and all only to stop at a better police squad?

there’s tanks burning on bridges that would be worth more than personel in 40k i’m sure, so when they’re at disposal why not toss em into the fight as well ?

Arbites are often one of the first involved in the defence of a planet as their fortress precints become bastions of resistance during large scale attacks until AM or Space Marines arrive.

They may not have access to the same fire power or combined arms assets that AM get but Arbites are very combat proficient and can hold their own.

They might be comparable to an “FBI” type organisation but they get all the extreme militarisation that comes with the WH40k verse so they’re not just pencil pushers or riot police.

  1. So I’ve been told, but fatshark could prob pull it off. It would sell for sure.

AFAIK the devs also said that they won’t have more than two eye levels for the players in one game. Vermintide had dwarfes and humans, Darktide has ogryns and humans. Also, Vermintide has many small enemies (Skaven) so that the lower viewing height of the dwarf isn’t such a problem like it would be in Darktide where the horde is at least of human height (bar hounds), so a small character just won’t see enough most of the time. Same goes for most obstacles and cover in the levels.
