Also losing hp is not at all easy without 1shot protection, since you’d need to memorize the attack dmg of elites or lone horde enemies to avoid getting killed while doing it. I can’t play zealot without mods anymore since I’m so used to thp conversion on ult. On a side note I’m not a large fan of the mechanic at all since thp is functionally identical to hp with enough enemies anyways, but it is what it is
I cant exactly recall an issue ive had playing slayer while using his career skill in regards to the music, but if it is ruining a part of your experience than it should be looked into i think because chances are, you’re not the only one. I’m not sure what sound settings there are available in the options and if any even counter this effect.
I agree that it would be nice to not have the bots heal you while you are playing Zealot. In fact I’d go one step further and would say that it would be even better if you could have more control over when the bots use heals altogether. Sometimes I don’t want them using heals when they or myself are low on green HP, sometimes I wish they would wait until they or myself are wounded first. Also sometimes they are low on green hp but have amassed a full bar of temp hp which makes them using healing feel wasteful as well. It would be nice to have more control over the healing supplies and how they are used but outside of the improved bots mod, I’m not sure how this would be implemented in game in a quick and easy way. It may be cumbersome in the middle of a game, but I can only see it being something you have to navigate to in the options menu. Back to the topic of Zealot, he has talents that make him very strong at low hp, and you want to be able to access that power without having brainless AI’s that you should have more control over ruin that for you so i completely understand your frustration.
Outcast engineer is definitely overtuned in my opinion. I can sometimes appreciate a good crankgun user or melee fighter, but the constant bombs and explosion and trollpedo builds are really annoying and is currently the only build I find not satisfying to even watch happen in the slightest, let alone have them gobbling up all the fun. I feel like i can’t even appreciate them slaying rats and chaos with constant bombs and trollpedos, it’s sickening. I can’t even enjoy playing bomb build AS engineer because it is just so unsatisfying. Bombs were always this counter to something the game throws at you, like an incendiary to clear out the horde + a monster, or a really good strength potion combined with a bomb against a patrol. It’s too much that he gets 10+ bombs a mission. I always liked the idea of engineer starting with bombs, but the bomb regeneration talent is annoying af throughout a mission. They should move the “Bardins explosives no longer cause friendly fire damage” to the Bombardier talent, and have it be “Bardin’s bombs gain the effect of both regular bombs and incendiary bombs. Bardin now begins a mission with 2 bombs. Bardins explosives no longer cause friendly fire damage.” And then rework ingenious ordnance to be something else or give us back the Leading Shots talent that gave him a crit every 4th ranged attack. I wouldn’t mind a talent that let me crank the gun a bit faster up to 5 stacks, and provided slightly extra bonus regen at stack number 5, to encourage crank gun users to keep their guns cranked. I do like watching steamgun hit enemies. That IS satisfying to watch.
The talent tooltips can always use more information, hell, the entire game needs more information.
It IS rather annoying that all 3 bots can sometimes get trapped in an infinite loop if they are being staggered backwards by a single flamethrower rat.
Basically, I agree with every one of your points.
