Some people are struggling on high difficulties but manage by using strong options, they at the same time consider people playing lower difficulties to be lesser.
And thus fear being relegated with the “lesser” if they can’t play mac difficulty

With lead combat designer departure from Fatshark and fact they drop their engine to UE5 from all engines I dobout we got new game anytime soon.
If somehow they manage to realase it in timely manner launch gona be worse than DT.
Hive Scum is already there, the public opinion just hasn’t arrived there yet.
I’m sure 2028 is going to be finally the year Unreal Engine games don’t run like sh…
Wana belive but have dobouts.
You have to believe it! UE performance is like “cold fusion in 30 years”, “Linux on Desktop next year”, and “Just 4 more trillion of dollars and I will give you AGI” Sam Altman.
Which isn’t confirmed yet. Some studio that use proprietary engine have to use an introductory engine to introduce them to their systems.
So we do not know whether or not if the next FS game will be on Stingray/Bitsquid or not UE5.

Sadly it’s hard to say if FatShark controls the premium cosmetic shop. That might be under Tencent’s control. Though it be nice if they copied Helldivers 2 and made it possible to randomly find premium currency in game and cosmetics. Players more are more are demanding a end to FOMO practices in live service games.
THIS 100%! This needs to be how future Darktide updates and games should be. I’ll even add that weapon blessings should have more gameplay changing effects over small buts so weapons feel uniqe and special to use. Think in terms like how Weapon Mods in DRG work (rock and stone). You can get mods they are just straight up buffs to a weapon, or just completely change how a weapon plays. from a multi barrel rocket launcher with laser guided rockets to a charged up rocket shotgun for exsample.
But this is Darktide, we can’t be wacky. Blessings should change the behavior of weapons though. from doing a quad reload when you get enough stacks on a shotgun to taping two las gun battered for quick reloads or a under barrle attachment.
Speaking of, i feel attachments are a must for Darktide 2. i’m not talking on terms of making 40k a CoD or BF6 clone, but just simple attachments like holosights and scopes to different attachments like bayonet or flashlight. No stocks, angled grips, or drum mags. just small things to just up the quality of life using firearms in game. though i won’t argue if they do add more attachments, but depending on how you aquire and attach them, i might.
Agreed, this game needs more optimization. i would also add FatShark should look into hiring some Linux programmers so the game is more optimized with Linux distros. What with the rise of more people switching to Linux from the MicroSlop being pushed out. Plus if the RAM market ever recovers when the AI bubble pops, Steam Box would be the new console for sale.
do hive worlds even have jungles, let alone even any life outside of a hive city? personally id be interested in exploring the lower hives.
pretty sure we’re going to get that whenever the next big update drops, but generated maps would be a must for me.
and blocking racists.
This, to be honest. i mean i don’t mind recolors but i do mind a expensive cosmetic shop that never updates and just has the same old, same old. You want a new skin for your gun? we got two colors and they’re both boring. so why don’t you spend your real money at the flash pirate lady instead.
I don’t mind crafting, but would you really call Darktides weapon customization ‘crafting?’ Feels more like basic upgrading system with just extra resources required.
In the end, i want Darktide to be a fun and replayable hoard shooter which is hard to find these days since Killing Floor 1 and L4D2. I want Darktide 2 to make class building more utility based over power creep. I want weapons to feel customizable and change depending on how I mod them. I want cosmetics to not cost me 50 bucks to have a full new set of armor for each class (Looking at you, Tencent. Everyone knows you’re behind the cosmetic prices)
The only concern I have is ‘will Fatshark make a new game’. Right now, I do not want a new Darktide. i rather FatShark grew their company a bit (without Tencent) and work on the current Darktide and expand of it and keep their promises. i want Darktide to be the best it can be and finish it’s story before a sequal is even teased.
Even if Fatshark did everything in the Book of Grudges, and put every half-reasonable idea players have suggested into practice tomorrow, I still wouldn’t pay a single US cent for anything they could offer.
Because at this point I have absolutely no reason to believe they would keep what was out intact or fulfill any promise about future plans. Too many bait-and-switches, too many “it is coming” only to get silence or a copy/ paste, too many excuses. To say nothing of zero honest attempts at addressing the players issues before Steam ratings & player count nose-diving towards zero force their hands.
So number one of my list - a different studio.
I genuinely just can’t understand their business logic: “Let’s promise the world, under deliver constantly, continue adding content no one asked for while remaining silent on the things they have been asking for for years, and then, when player dissatisfaction is at an all time high and players are leaving in drove, we’ll address one of the complaints and when players return we’ll sell them reskins of cosmetics at a premium in a FOMO shop and add on P2W DLC classes!”
Versus: “Let’s make a fun game that players want to play and spend money on and earn their goodwill so they trust us to provide quality games in the future and secure their money in the future.”
Edit: I’ve said it before, I purchased Farthest Frontier on day 1 due solely to the faith and trust I have in Crate Entertainment after Grim Dawn. The genre was completely different and they didn’t let me down. Going above and beyond to provide a quality product. I will buy basically anything they sell because they’ve proven they can be trusted with my money to make fun and engaging games without lying or fomo to keep money rolling in.
Incompetent leadership.
Really explains everything.
They promise the moon because they think they can do that (somehow), they’re too arrogant to admit they were wrong and trying to get them to do anything is like pulling teeth as a consequence, and they’re constantly flailing for whatever they think the next cool idea is in an attempt to put more lipstick on the pig
Fair demand. I support it.
