Why is Vermintide 2 better in so many regards?

It’s like DT has better pieces, but was put together poorly.

One of the things they got dragged for was promising a completely new paradigm that just turned out to be ‘VT2 trees but sideways’.

So they made this overcomplicated mess instead. Because they’re fundamentally not skilled enough to make it good.

It’s not even a skill issue though? they already did it in one game???

honestly realistically because covid caused extreme disruptions in the games development and they had to release it anyway despite being very much not finished. almost all of the garbage haunting darktide is a direct result of it coming out 2 years too early

where that guy that has something to say about vt2 glazers :rat:

wait even in vt2 does it better… first section in The Blightreaper the infamous tunnel of darkness (and you can carry a good source of torch at least for any character and also fight with it!)

but yea i agree, dt has some things good and all, but if then the game is way more behind than vt2, then simply vt2 is just objectively holds much better.

also unique bosses in vt2 unlike dt having just basically shield captains which are boring. in vt2 also blightstormers and leechers were good enemies that should somehow still been kept in someways in dt lore permitting finding the corresponding versions of them.

fortunes of war was way much better than mortis trials…
last stand from vt1 too ngl but FoW is so iconic and so challenging that mortis trials is just meh.

That’s because the team responsible for balance now isn’t the same one that made the skill tree. The old combat lead finished the trees and then left Fatshark to create his own game studio (he also took a couple others with him), so he never iterated on it. It’s probably why balance has been so terrible, the man that’s been designing their game since VT1 left.
