Hm, I am a swede and have fiber and I still have wonky latency at times!
The game performance was abysmal the last weeks leading up to the update.

Now, seriously - I started getting some hitreg issues at the start of June. By the middle of July I had to double-tap headshots and started getting them in melee too. By the end of July I could finish at most two games before the DCs began.
I dropped the game around the 24th of July - just stopped logging in one day, and came back to check the new patch. Of the 5 runs I tried, I DCed out of the 2nd, reconnected, DCed again, couldn’t reconnect. 3rd run crashed for everyone. 4th run managed to finish. 5th run I DCed, Alt-F4d and haven’t tried since.
While playing somehow in those runs, the hitreg was abysmal and my frames went from 100+ at the end of July, to 14-20 spikes…

Whenever I read something to the affect of “I only do the hardcore difficulty” in a post in any game’s board I cringe so hard it stays on for a good few minutes.
As sorry as it is to see, im glad to see im not the only one because I was checking technical support and there wasnt really any recent complaints about it. My internet can have issues sometimes which makes it hard to be certain which end the issue is at.
Very frustrating to get 3/4 of the way through a run, hear a horde start then watch as the game hangs and poxwalkers start levitating but the game hasnt decided if youve lost connection or not. Id rather get booted imediately then think i just left 3 people with a useless meatbag they might waste their time trying to pick up.

Same. 500/500 mb/s fiber cable internet and most games I cannot reliably dodge attacks in-game due to latency screwing me over.
