You sure it won’t be a regular power sword in Darktide?
It might be, but if I had to bet, I’d bet on it being a Skitarii Power Sword in the same way the Arbites got the Arbites Shock Maul.
If not for the leak of “Power Sword P3” in the game files, there’d be a possibility of it simply being available across both Skitarii and Veteran, with different Class-based Cosmetics.
But… the leak is there; it’s a new Weapon Family.
“Power Sword P1” is Munitorum Power Sword, “Power Sword P2” is Power Falchion. Therefore, “Power Sword P3” must be this Mars Power Sword.

I don’t think we’re misunderstanding each other.
I genuinely think there’s a chance the transonic weapons either function off of heatbars or get a new mechanic (or ignore the mechanic entirely).
To me it makes sense if Skitarii swords end up being just sort of generally good which leaves room for a high burst damage melee option.
Yeah, I get you. Transonic Weapons are definitely something that I’m excited to see Fatshark try to tackle. There are MANY possibilities.

Ohhh, you meant like the whole Power Falchion versus Munitorum Power Sword dynamic?
Yeah, makes sense. I personally prefer Heat-based Power Weapons over Activation-based ones, so having Munitorum Power Sword on Skitarii in order to let Mars Power Sword behave more like Power Falchion is something that I’d be in favour of, for sure.
It also allows Power Falchion to remain as a distinct “Veteran” Weapon in terms of aesthetics, seeing as Power Falchions are VERY MUCH an Astra Militarum thing.
Regarding Revolvers: IIRC Serberys Raider Alphas wield Archeo-Revolvers. So it’s not completely out of character for Skitarii to have a Big Iron on their hiii~p.

Maybe it’d make sense for Skitarii to be issued with all of the shared “Primitive” Ballistic Handguns, then! Quickdraw Stub Revolvers and Shredder Autopistols.
Some sort of knuckle dusters for ogryn and a two handed chain axe and also pistol/sword dual wielding
Ogryn - Shield with Power Maul on activation instead of shield wall.
I had forgotten about the Flechette Blaster and the Stub Carbine as well.
