Veteran Sniper Feat Granting Less Damage than Listed:

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Play Meat Grinder as Veteran (Sharpshooter)
  2. Select a ranged weapon and a pingable target that can survive being hit. Do not have the Sniper feat selected.
  3. Use ping to determine distance to target, record non-critical damage hit numbers at distances from 5m to 30m using 5 meter increments.
  4. Go to the operative screen and select the Sniper Feat. Using the same weapon and target, repeat step 3.
  5. Observe damage numbers. Calculate the percent difference in damage using the following formula C = (x2-x1)/x1. C being the percent difference, x2 being the damage with Sniper and x1 being the damage without Sniper.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 on different applicable targets.
  7. See if damage is being increased by 25%. Following the above procedures my math returned a 13.6-13.9% damage increase.

Version 1.0.7 Update

Saw the patch note about Veteran talents and thought I would rerun these tests. The description of Sniper was changed from “…up to 25% increased damage…” to “…up to 20% increased damage…” so I thought might be more accurate to the numbers I initially saw but it still isn’t correct.

Not only was the text on the talent changed, but the damage increase was in fact lowered as well. I replicated my experiment on the Mauler Torso from earlier and now the damage at 30m or greater is 269 down from the last patch’s 275.

So this bug still exists, the damage increase has gone down to 11.1% increase instead of the listed 20%. Here are my recorded damage numbers again:
