i like these enemies and want more like em, ill take just about any new enemies fatshark feels like putting in this game, if theyre challenging thats just a huge bonus
Sounds more like some kind of long held in grudge than a true happiness, so far, tbh. Luckily, the backlash is pretty uniform regarding them and FS already have confirmed they are looking into nerfing them, so this nonsense won’t stay. Whatever “issue” you imagine it solves it doesn’t, it just makes the game more unberable and less enjoyable for vast majority of players. Instead of finding solace in something that irritates others (and what you can luckily circumvent with whatever you usually play) may be you should focus on actual solutions to the issues you believe there are in the game. It’s definitely not lack of HP sponges on your way through the map, that we’d had enough already even before Vanguards.

Not for business no. That’s why it’s going away
Darktide players when they need to actually engage in melee combat
Golden Toughness needs to be made non-replenishable by regular toughness gain and the one-shot protection on it removed. It should act like a temporary extension of your toughness instead of virtual invulnerability.
I engage in melee combat enough, the actually fun melee combat. I don’t find poking some bloated turd that imitates melee combat while being just a grindfest engaging enough though. How about adding enemies that are actually fun to fight - and nerfing all those crutches that make them insta-removed from the game currently, so there wouldn’t be a need of adding those HP bloated, hyper-resistant turds? Nerf further / redesign kraks, nerf Boom Bringer back to its original state on release, nerf needle pistol and arc rifle, purgatus and smite, redesign Field Improvisation as it must not restore your grenades again and again from the same crate, that’s rediculously OP when combined with Scum blitzes or kraks etc? Nerf golden toughness to boot.
I’m honestly with you on everything except for the vanguard hate.
I like them personally, they don’t take too long to kill in my experience, and I’m saying this as a thunder hammer zealot and dclaw vet on Auric and Havoc. They look cool to me and I like the change of pace, trash horde enemies die in like less than a second so I don’t think a trash enemy living for slightly longer than usual is that bad frankly. What they need is a satisfying hit sound tbh.
A nice satisfying crack when the shield is broken would go a long way.
Or drop the base ammo by another 1.
Kraks need to not have the same chance to replenish from Demo Team as frags and smokes do, it’s like vet hit the slot machine jackpot on kraks.
Busted blitzes aren’t a problem if they’re limited in use, the issue arises when you can just pull them out from between your cheeks for every risky encounter instead of having to think: do I use it now, or save it for if the situation gets worse?
???
Quite the opposite, it encourages even more lightspam, as their carapace shield will stop anything REGARDLESS of how much cleave it has.
Make the shield flak or break sooner, these little shits stopping a pickaxe twice their size dead on its track makes no sense whatsoever.
no talents flak unyielding combat axe with brutal momentum and headtaker takes 5-7 heavies to kill a scab vanguard. it takes 7 to kill a mauler. why do you think its a good idea for a trash mob to have as much hp as one of the strongest units in the game?
I bet you are one of those guys who hits the shield until it breaks and hit the guy until it dies. I have seen videos and a surprising amount of players in matches that they think this is how these guys are needed to deal with. The amount of stupidness after the skitarii update skyrocketed. While I dodge behind them and killing them with 3 hits. If you thing they are just big HP pool to slow you down for a big amount of time then you are totally doing something wrong. Yes they slow me down, by 3 seconds, wich is their purpose.
Do not let the snivellers gaslight you into thinking that pal, ogryn is very strong![]()
its just funny how goalposts start flying like pigs come an inconvenience in justifying a narrative.
you go full health havoc its “oh but…”
you solo something another comes roachin’
soon as some of them meet a non shield&taunt-gryn come havoc though, you see em shiver like little girls.
so far ogryn, besides havin da best biceps, is at least the class with the most effort to put into when doing above and beyond/solo stuff, hence far more respectable a performance than say stealth anything or gun scum ![]()
that way it’s a good thing stuffing some sniveler snouts with facts ![]()
basically a free modifier for maelstrom ![]()
This is why I’m saying they should be marked as elite units…
I like the idea but I dont like how awful they are to deal with with some weapons/builds. Particularly how stagger resistant they are, their shield eats the stagger and just does nothing. Bulwarks are easier to open up because they have bigger longer more obvious openings when they attack then can get staggered for even longer.
If there’s a change I’d like to see in these guys
Is to remove the extra resistance they have against ranged (both head, arms and legs) this way shooting them in the head gives better results
As well as giving them 75% DoT resistance while they have the shield, to bring down options like bleed, tox, burn and soulblaze
They need to die easily if attacked from behind or side, otherwise it’s not really an interesting game, it excludes the whole layer of outmaneuvering your enemy, or cooperating with allies (killing them from behind easily while they are attacking someone else)
