Basically what @fbolduc said there is something in their movement especially how they turn, while they have the typical decision making of someone familiar with the game on macro level. Eg: Taking up proper positions, good target picks, knows when to go and when to hold out etc…
I gave Ogryn as an example not to bash on it, but it’s the most easy to tell at least for me.
Hey, thank you for the lovely early patch notes! I am excited about almost all of these changes here, but I’m kind of disappointed in the things that aren’t in here.
Why no nerfs for the Plasma Gun or Columnus? You don’t have to neuter them but it’s obvious they are overperforming compared to other weapons. Why are we leaving them untouched when they completely overshadow all the other weapons and make even the hardest difficulties too easy?
Why no buffs for the Autopistol? The autopistol has no niche in the game. “It’s a fast swap sidearm with good suppression” except it’s not. It’s a fast swap sidearm with suppression that comes nowhere near the level of the Graia Braced on top of having less damage and a smaller ammo pool. I think you could easily give it its own niche as THE suppression firearm. Have it be THE weapon for quick swapping to when you need to put down a horde of gunners for a bit or stop the reaper before he has a chance to shred you. You don’t need to make it compete with the other weapons in terms of raw damage or range, just make it THE suppression weapon for some solid utility. Suppression is a very underrated mechanic, and most guns (outside of the Graia braced) don’t get enough of it for it to be noticeably useful, so this would be a perfect niche for the autopistol to fill.
No shotgun buffs? It’s been discussed to death at this point. Let them reload faster, maybe give them a bit more ammo, and make it so the hipfire actually kills pox walkers so it can feel like a proper shotgun, instead of a lever-action rifle. I don’t think any of that is too crazy.
I can’t wait to get back into the game when the patch drops but I feel like these are some glaringly obvious changes your balance team should have on their radar. Please let the Darktide team know we want the autopistol to have a place in the game, shotguns to be actual shotguns, and the top tier weapons to be brought down just a tad.
Does the Power Surge blessing even work on Ogryn’s Power Maul?
I tried for a full mission, did not notice its effect on any of the enemies I fought against.
Tried it in the psykhanium, and I honestly struggle with noticing any “secondary explosion”, and is this explosion supposed to only have a stagger/knockback effect on enemies?
Feel like I’m going schiozoid imagining if it has an effect, feels completely worthless.
I’m not certain where to provide this feedback but @FatsharkStrawHat I’d like to recommend a change to the Psyker’s talent tree (all credit due to Ryken XIV). Please swap Perilous Assault with Souldrinker. The locations for these talents make no sense on their respective sides of the tree. Swapping them makes more sense given the intent of each side and gives the Psyker a more logical use of the talents. /TIA
