Yes, first games we played in my usual group, we immediately found that firedrakes, despite their apparently reduced accuracy, still have too quick cooling.
Wizard is… difficult, as she’s meant to be a ranged caster, mediocre melee and all. Her firepower is limited by heat, but at the moment it’s a tad easy to fire continuously, a combination of staff traits like cooldown on crit and the ability to vent with temporary health. Those would obviously still need adjustments.
Nerf it any further and ill question why ranged isnt relegated to active abilities…
Developer thinking process:
Bad players can’t beat recruit/vet - Nerf difficulties across the board
Bad players can’t manage ranged weapons - Nerf ranged
I love how bad players are being blamed for making allegedly good players have to put a bit more effort into the game.
And they should swing harder with the nerf hammer.
Pointless nerfs and champion is even easier. Once I stated that nerfing ammo for rangeds would be pointless. We now have the nerf and ranged can still be played for the entire map with barely any consequence. For as long as headshots give me back my ammo devs may very well remove increased ammo altogether.
This tested on Kerillian and Kruber @ champion.

Thank God, everyone who was playing the game like an FPS will have to learn to get in the fight. Ranged has its place. Thinning a horde, taking out specials from afar. It’s definitely not to stand in the middle of a horde spamming arrows from 2 feet away because it’s easier just to click in a general direction.
Melees thining a horde somehow doesnt need to click in a general direction. thats rich.
I agree with Birdman on the pointless nerf part. ammo is not a problem, if they nerf more you just bring a ranger to the playstyle being viable, i would ask them to revert the ammo change back so it feels better but honestly. Ranged specs are already the best ones in the game, so its hard to ask for a buff when there is still so much to fix it.
I didn’t think I needed to go into the nuance but apparently I do. With melee there is risk involved. You need to time dodges, blocks and strikes. With ranged you simply point and click. Easier to understand?
Well if you in the middle of the horde, spaming arrows clicking in a general direction, you understand that the guy need to move, dodge, time their shooting AND switch weapons fast so he can block right?
What you think its unfair is what i do with Saltzpyre sitting behind someone and shooting with my crossbow from a safe position to destroy hordes, which i manage to do because the weapon has the Pierce tag on it.
It feels like every diehard melee-only player wants to get a trophy because they manage to block hits and they rage whenever the endgame screen won’t say they are MVP and paint their names in gold with diamonds.
Melee is hard. It gets even harder if no one’s there providing fire support so you won’t get cluster f*ed by hordes and specials.
And that’s fine now that ammo is nerfed. I don’t see the problem. The problem isn’t that ranged is in the game, or even that people use it to great effect. The problem is that people had so much ammo that they never put their ranged weapons away! They would machine gun their way through the level killing most everything from afar before other people even had a chance. With less ammo you need to think about how you use that ammo. Should you thin the horde or save arrows for the blight stormer? If you save the arrows you need to risk using your melee weapons to take out the horde. It’s strategic, makes you think about the moves you make. All that is ruined when you give someone the ability to rapid fire arrows from across a field constantly rearming arrows or bullets every few minutes.
Like birdman said, that balance goes away when you add orange traits (Which i think its fine, i like orange traits being game changers instead of a bonus that doenst impact your style).
FatShark will have to tell us what they think about the issues. I was called a Mad-man because i tought Huntsman and Bounty Hunter being Boss killers was by design (Since other characters get to press f to kill specials, i tought i could press f to kill bosses and patrols)
I may be twice as mad for thinking that having infinite ammo in virtue of having cool gear is balanced and by design.
Thank the gods you didn’t design this game. Infinite ammo, bosses go down in 3 seconds. You think this is their design? What kind of challenge is this? Go play Call of Duty with bots on easy. It will give you the same challenge and they won’t nerf it.
I still haven’t heard any suggestions from people opposed to ranged classes fighting at range in regard to pyromancer or ironbreaker. Is it ok for them to do it but not for anyone else?

Well with Iron Breaker the pistols are rather inaccurate so just because they are shooting doesn’t mean they are hitting. Flamethrower is near useless in champion because of collateral damage. Sienna should have faster heat production and faster heat dissipation. That way she can use her abilities when she needs them, but not be able to spam them. One or two spears, conflagration and you’re over heating. But will cool down soon. But it will force you to melee in the mean time and you know you will have your tools available before too long if you need them. Fixes the constant spam.
Birdman you’re the worst of them all. Just strawman after strawman. You’re right, people don’t want the game to be challenging or engaging they truly just want to ruin your good time. Me and everyone on the forum got together and decided we absolutely had to make sure that the elf got no weapons did no damage and died in one hit and we wouldn’t rest until it happened! We swore a blood oath and everything. That’s just how important you are to the community.
It seems an arrow miss and you got hit in the knee. But you also should be careful of friendly fire. If anything I said the nerf is pointless. There is no need to rollback because the time devs spent is already lost.
At this I’m the one on subject while you are now bringing ammo-less weapons after your rant failed to get any impression.
