I am unable to load in to expedition matches. I join the lobby, board the valkyrie but never land. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, verify file integrity, different operators. I am able to play anything from the regular terminal.

CPU: 7800X3D
GPU: 9800XT

I am on Linux and have tried different proton versions , it did not change anything. I have not seen anyone else mention this particular issue, I waited 24 hours to see if there are other reports. I think this might be something specific with my hardware or setup. But in case it’s not. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

Every time I join expeditions. Solo queue, with friends, loading in mid match. Never leave the valkyrie

No, I don’t use mods

Constant (100%)

I have the exact same problem

CPU: R5 7600
GPU: 6700 XT
OS: Nobara Linux 43

which proton are u using
maybe try proton-GE?

I tried a couple different ones but not GE. Expiremental, Hotfix and a few numbered ones. Trying GE now.

Same issue on my end, loading in Valkyrie forever, also running Linux, Zorin Distro

Proton GE seems to have done the trick for me. Try it out guys!

Is that in Steam or external?

get proton GE externally, then restart steam and select proton GE (it’ll need to restart again)

the current proton GE version should be called GE-Proton10-32 in steam compatibility options

Im still unable to play expeditions, i tried Proton Experimental, Hotfix, DW, EM, GE 10.33 and 9.27

Have you tried Proton GE versions besides 10.33?

Yep, 32, 31, 30 and still the same.
I tried deleting user_settings and reinstalling the game too
Sometimes it kicks me from the Valkyrie with the errors 1003/1016

Same, still no dice even after trying GE so i guess one day Darktide will fix whatever backend crap is breaking it

Might be an issue with filepaths. I had the same issue, pop_os, using flatpak steam. What solved it was moving the files but its a bit tricky with the flatpak. Suppose using deb steam could solve it but heres what i did to get it working with flatpak

Create folder under home as /home/user/games/steamlib
Install flatseal (i needed to start via terminal using “flatpak run”)
Under Steam in flatseal add the above new folder. Also add perms so its /path/to/steamlib:rw
Add the new folder in steam settings as a library
Move Darktide there
