There is definitely an FX rendering issue that tanks FPS with blight+gas+archive sychorax. I believe the issue is with the rotten gas FX + blight FX causing massive “over rendering” for frames. When you are in that random hatch event at the start of Archivum Sycorax - it has some kinda of ambient red glow that causes the issue to be extremely exacerbated to the point of crashing the client. I have had it happen repeatedly in the last week. I have seen blight+rotten gas tank my frame rates down to sub 15 on other maps in certain areas as well. I have an insanely beefy machine with a rtx5090. When the issue isn’t occuring I have 200+fps and the game is beautiful. It’s obviously something that just has to be optimized when the FX get combined.

Edit: I play with ray-tracing on and settings turned UP.

Not just Sycorax.

i use med-low settings upscaled to 2k and i was getting stable 60fps before this update, now i get like 20 less fps (had to lower settings to get fps back) and random spikes of lag that have no clear cause, as the usage of my CPU and GPU show nothing wrong that would be causing lag

Aye, not just Sycorax, had this tanking on every map. At first I put it down to me being on linux, so I did some updating and monitoring and found nothing on my end, not my connection, not my card or CPU even getting close to high temps. This performance crap out is happening all over. I find any time there’s a horde spawn or a “waterfall of rotten armour crushers that can’t logically fit in this corridor but are raining from the sky into it” alongside frequent memory leaks and animation sticks, are driving most of us nuts.
