I have just ended a game where I have ceased to play and started walking…
Well yeah but whenever OP weapon is pointout those who “use” it flock such a topic and focus on dmg and try derail discussion so other weapon problem stay hidden.
Don’t forget to take the oath of the vidmaster:
“I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use Caps Lock as my “run” key, and to never, ever, leave a single Bob alive.”
Well, this is furiously annoying the psykers.
Now, I leave once I see that there is a purgatus staff used… (just started a game and left 1 minutes after the start… as always, you hit the air)
Problem… there is too many OP builds… and I still need to get diamantine…
Sad to have to play online just to get materials. Really, as Fatshark refuses to balance their game, I really would like that they allow us to avoid the OP builds.
At least, allow us to block games with identified classes… Veteran and Psykers. Veteran for the yellow toughness, and psykers because they are unbalanced.
Or give us the solo game mode!!!
Usual difference between psykers and others characters
The psyker did not use purgatus but the surge staff and was using soulblaze…
Soulbaze has dealt 205 877 damages in this game.
Please note the 3 damages with the melee weapon. Sure, a psyker needs to melee
Game was a maelstrom (lost - I try to find the bug that when I open chat I get a black screen with just substitles - that made me killed).
The usual?
Okay today ill do a session with scoreboard on…
Please don’t use OP weapons then…
Usual with non OP builds
When I use a zealot with boltgun, FoF, martyrdom and a relic blade or a combat axe, sure, the difference is not really huge
But I told it.. Martyrdom is the best keystone in my opinion and boltgun is clearly too strong
I’m still gonna say Inferno does too much for the effort it requires
If it did what it does but actually required either more gamesense, resource management and/or mechanical skill, I probably wouldn’t be complaining about it
Yayyyy hold M2, and then hold M1, no aim, no crosshair placement, your flame can even visually miss and still hit the target
It’s insane how can people defend this IMO
It’s wild how many people think the Purgatus Staff is top-tier on Auric. I honestly feel bad for their game sense and mechanics. I can easily outkill a Purgatus Psyker in Elite and Specialist kills on Auric with any class—even Psyker itself has way better weapon options than the Purgatus. Some people just don’t get it, and honestly, it’s sad how huge the gap between players actually is.
It all depends on your relative damage output, like if I go staggermax ogryn I’m just enabling massive feeds throwing skullcrusher and brittle pushes out, but if I’m using GG on a gunlugger its my feed instead. For the people who wanna run the melees that don’t come close to the OP ranged in terms of killing potential inferno is still a groan in auric. And scab only maelstroms, but all staves are obnoxious to witness there.
As I said, imo, I think there is a psykler problem oustide of the purgatus staff.
Psyker power is equal to other classes BEFORE applying soulblaze. Thanks to penetration of the soul and maybe warp rider.
But the worse is when you add soulblaze. Then here you add 1/3 more damages and a critical bonus +5% at all time. Soulblaze make the difference.
On Purgatus itself, WITH CURRENT PSYKER TALENT TREE, this weapon cleaves like a flamer, spray soulblaze stacks, deal very good damages without even needing to aim.
But, my opinion is that this is not the staff itself. We are checking the wrong part. We try to repair the pipeline instead of the the factory right above that has many water leaks!
I see the majority of players have already stated obvious facts and statements to the spells and nerfs we are talking about. I am not gonna go in detail. I simply want to put this short message since few players are going to read your whole post: “As a psyker, you are not supposed to do single target damage, nor are you supposed to carry this burden for your team.”
If you want to play some random psyker build yeah keep it to auric mostly, but as an end-game player I can tell to all the readers that each class has a certain role in this game in order to make the most out of the 4 man squad and contribute to the mission AND BE SUCCESSFULL. That is strongly if you play havoc. You can experiment and play as you wish below Auric level because that’s where people won’t get mad with you (I hope). After all it is a game and you should play it for fun.
But the core idea is that you can not expect Fatshark to nerf certain spells or let’s say playstyles as a whole, in order to balance for something the class is not made for. It will ruin the whole co-op role playstyle the game has to offer, just to satisfy some fancy new build testers.
No offense of course.
Best wishes,
SneeKy
It does a lot more than just damage though. It can perma-stagger every non-crusher/boss enemy and instantly suppresses every shooter enemy within reach.
It’s wild how many people actually think that water is wet. I honestly feel bad for their ability to sense wetness. I can easily think of lots of things that are wetter than water, like beer and mountain dew, because I’m really good at knowing when things are wet. Some people just don’t understand wetness, and it just goes to show how much better I am at knowing when things are wet than everyone else. I’ve descended from the sublime peaks of moisture knowledge to inform you that water is NOT wet and you’re all dumb for saying that it is. Good day.
(Disclaimer: this is a goof)
One more guy that wants to balance around Havoc and see no problem that we experiment all a broken game when not playing Havoc
I tried your Havoc yesterday… a pure joke.
5 lobbies every 5 minutes. Nothing under 35. This game mode is empty
Please Fatshark, stop balancing for 2 cats and 1 mouse, and balance the game for the entire community…
I’m not offended, but I do need to clarify that if you need inferno to fullfil your role as Psyker in Havoc (as you said “end-game”) that’s a you issue
Scriers Gaze Voidblast can easily fill that role, still be the AoE DoT applier that will be top damage at the end of the game, but it actually takes 2 braincells to use instead of 0
The issue of Inferno staff monopolizing Psyker choice is not only because of how strong it is, but also how braindead easy it is, meaning that players even at the highest levels won’t switch off it because they can’t use anything else
I’m tired of seeing 90% of Psykers in both Auric and Havoc Party Finder be running Inferno Staff (even if they already have assignment 40)
hasnt that happened already the moment people expect certain loadouts as a “default”?
back at release cooperation happened through gameplay, nowadays it’s push ult 1 then ult 2, repeat.
the very reason i seldomly play havoc for when i hit “play” i do so on my own terms, not what strangers expect to see ![]()
nope, no one has a “role” except see the match through to the best of his abilities.
the way he wants and the way he deems effective.
strangers got an issue with it they should do a premade and put themselves into these roles if they like.
given the current power of each class, any composition in competent hands can clear havoc 40, its just people prefer the “safest” option at the fear of demotion.
another thing i dont put up with personally.
so all this balancing to get one or two safe options into each class is the absolute wrong approach when cooperation is the goal in the long run.
havoc would be played a lot more if people werent that afraid to lose a rank (the idea of rank is idiotic in itself, at the end its either 40 or nothing anyways) and if the corset of “mandatory” loadouts werent there. ![]()
you forgot the toad… now he’s pretty pissed ![]()
but at least a moist one ![]()
Maybe it wasnt that obvious but it was what I mean with my response.
And yeah my question was rhetorical.
I was faithfull adherent to purgatus-to-OP church. Was, as lately I’ve started having doubts, that the purgatus is the problem.
Lately, I was on a roll of getting really great teammates on Havoc 40, and let me tell you, purgatus was never true outlayer. While true, it typically has biggest damage, the gap wasn’t that big, and gap in elite/specials kills clearly shown that purgatus was just eating dps on horde chuff and slowly bitting arses of some random elites.
Purgatus has this quirky anti-synergy with team skill. If other players play great, push aggressively, dish out their fair share of dps, doesn’t get sandwiched, purgatus doesn’t have that much of targets as it could be getting when trying to hold the line for weaker, slower team. Thats why numbers can swing wildly, even on h40 runs.
I’d also like to add some small numbers sample from myself. H40 when both melee scum and melee+dog arbities, outdamaged purgatus psyker by a kilometers. There are way more overtuned things in the wild then purg.
P. S.
My PR was 2.8kk damage, on Auric-ML, with Greatsword, this weapon is bonkers.
I tend to operate on a first come first serve basis to the point of accepting duplicate classes. Whenever I get 2 flame psykers one pretty much instantly swaps not build but class to something totally different as if psyker only has one build to play.(I understand soulblaze ownership and the like.) In addition to what you put here I constantly see swaps to flame psyker whenever the game pushes back and you do not win. I try to make it clear I am not here to manage other people’s builds or fun but then they just do it to themselves.
