“would”
She just showed up and doesn’t trust us in the slightest yet, so yeah her personality will be 2d until she knows we are dependable, and i’m sure the train mission helped with that.
she doesn’t, but morrow does and given that grumpy prick i imagine he’d let her do it for laughs
Another fairly typical brass character. Starting to have more NPCs in charge of stuff than actual NPCs on the Morningstar. But for me I wanted to see Cultists and the Genetor character, so seeing more Militarum brass thrown in the mix just makes me go ‘yawn are we finished with those yet’. And it could be any kind of Commissar (except Xenos obv) and I’d feel the same. Soldiers are way cooler than military brass.
they don’t have that authority unless grendyl gives it to them.
…we haven’t heard anything that clown’s said since…
…we’ve actually never confirmed we’ve heard a single thing from the inquisitor, so we can’t say if they’ve done that.
also i don’t doubt morrow would give them go-ahead to blam us if we screwed up, he really does not bother to remember who we are, which is still better than hadron bumping her execution request every week.
I reckon a proper commissar skinf for vet is due now instead of the “leather jacket with imperium insignia on the side dubbed commissar outfit”.
I understand that commissars lead from the front, so I don’t understand why she is on the ship, or giving orders from afar.
I also understand that anything inquisition is above commissars, so I don’t understand why anyone in the warband would care about her existence.
No one likes that attitude either from females or males… unless it’s somewhat playful/humorous. This isn’t the case, I think.
I had understood that commissars were political officers, officers of the Officio Prefectus (aka Commissariat), who oversee the morale and conduct of regular troops. They still fall under the umbrella of the Munitorum but they have a parallel chain of command to the regular Imperial Guard and, although they can assume command if all other officers in their unit are dead (or deemed unfit), they seldom keep it for long. They are almost never assigned command from the outset except in the most extenuating circumstances. They are morale and discipline officers, not tactical and certainly not strategic.
Now it seems like every other commissar in the setting is the command equivalent of a colonel or a general.
Still, I’m interested to see what she brings to the game, especially since she is being given a presence on the Mourningstar. Will she be some new vendor? We did just get a gear overhaul, is she the next phase in that? I don’t really see her passing out red weapons though. I suspect she will be the mission board for the “operations” once we have enough variety to fill a side board. It’ll keep the short missions from clogging up the main board too.
What do other people think her practical function will be?
It depends on the commissar, some join the battle on the front lines, others stay behind to inspire the troops by executing any cowards/deserters.
I’m glad to finally have a commissar archetype aboard. Plus it looks like they are constructing something in her area, which always interests me.
I also might have a crush on her.
After Earth Jaden Smith type accent.
It’s interesting, the voice actress is clearly putting on a vague Eastern European accent that doesn’t really connect with any real accent of that area from what I’m told. I believe the actress herself may be Scottish?
However, since we’re in the 41st (42nd?) Millennium with millions of worlds, a planet full of people with fake Eastern European accents is well within the realm of possibility.
If you’ve listened to the Gaunt’s Ghosts audiobooks, maybe she grew up on Verghast?
