Victor Magnuson did a PC gamer interview about scrapping the “old” crafting system, whatever it was, and talking about making a new one. Whether the head explicitly asked for locks or not… Only fatshark knows.
But yeah, honestly I am more curious about what is going on at the studio than the game most times.
They already set themselves up for this by releasing the game in the state they did imo. We’re six months out from release and barely better off than the first week. So far FS has done nothing to convince me this game won’t be another “live service” failure that has the plug pulled within a year, no way I’m spending more money on it until that changes.
I’m legitimately not sure if you’re joking because as of the last patch I literally haven’t been able to play because of constant 3001 errors. I had bad connectivity issues before that and somehow they’ve mostly just gotten worse.
Tbh just being able to load into the hub consistently would be a massive improvement for me.
remember day one where like 70% of players had crashes 10 times per match? it certainly got better.
FS is known for messing things up they already fixxed previously, gotta get used to it, it will happen lots more.
but the joke really is that the whole mess is of their doing, they wouldn’t need to focus on fixxing things, if they hadn’t insisted to release in cashgrab season,
tumbling from one mess into the next…
Not really, no, but my problem has always been just getting into the hub or a match. Once I’m in I usually stay in but I got to the point a few months ago where if I can’t at least get to the hub within 3-5 tries (depends on my mood) I just give up trying to play for the day. Not worth wasting more of my time when the game’s BS playtime inflating systems already eat up a lot if it the rare times it’s working perfectly.
Performance was actually much better during the beta for me in general now that I think about it.
yeah they messed up something big this time, but new problems that keep players from playing never stayed that long, relatively easy to fix, (just gotta compare last version to new version).
so should be fixxed soonᵀᴹ.
that added to the problem big time many people i know me included said the same, beta performance was quite good, but then release everthing borked
When we get to 666 The Masque will come and take whoever came up with locks to forever dance through the Materium and Immaterium alike. Or till The Victim drops dead from exhaustion…
Maybe then at the end of mortal life he / she will understand the pain we endure grinding every, karking day, for that perfect 550 bolter, lasgun, flamer, powersword, staff or other equipment.
When life will start fading away The Victim will only hear laugh of the thirsting gods… just like we, each time hear only sass of a opensource, thunder-toaster C*nt.
I just kinda feel bad for people still playing this game. I poke my head in every once in a while to see what’s happened, and honestly it makes me nostalgic for how hilariously bad Vermintide 2’s launch was. 6 months in, though, that game was generally in a working state.
I hope you eventually either break them down and get a crafting system you enjoy, or you find a dev team that actually cares and play their game instead. DRG’s getting a big update soon, by the by. I know its combat is kinda lackluster but i’ll take ‘an okay game by a passionate team’ over ‘a decent core wrapped in bad infrastructure by an indifferent team’ any day.
In almost every respect except the moment to moment combat, DRG really blows DT out if the water imo. Better class based gameplay, consistent free updates, player friendly monetization (like one cosmetic pack per season that is strictly for people who want to support the devs), greater map variety because of procedural generation and multiple distinct biomes, huge amount of unlockable cosmetics, nice and cozy player hub, private games, ability to pick the map and mission you want to play, healthy playerbase, I could go on.
Really wish FS took some notes from them. It’s probably one of the best co op shooters on the market right now.
They probably did take some notes from them. They took the map selection with zones and missions modifiers but didn’t understand why it worked with DRG and less so with DT.
just when I thought it couldn’t get worse they announce a “new content drop” featuring recolors, a new monstrosity they already had the assets for, and awful excuses for levels featuring 0 new locations, 0 new weapons, 0 new classes, and the crafting locks are still in the game. and to top it all off the premium cosmetics shop is re-opening. I really think its malice at this point. there’s no other option in my mind. No logical human being can see everything that’s happened over the past 6 months and confidently say “fatshark is making decisions they believe are going to improve their game”. I cannot see anything in these updates other than some kind of twisted social experiment.
Either way, that’s it. I can’t stand to associate myself with this company anymore. Its to the point that I almost want to quit VT2 as well just because it has their name on the game. I’m done, i can’t put any more energy into this repulsing trash fire they have the audacity to call a game. I’ll see you guys in DRG.
