Half of my teams are bots in the new event. Something about the AI director being able to throw continuous, limitless mobs against us and two simultaneous inescapable AoEs until we’re split apart, surrounded and overwhelmed. Guess people don’t think hopelessness is fun for some reason.
The latest event is hot garbage, and I’m a Havoc player. I’d rather play Havoc, at least most of its missions have no gas condition.
I have played auric maelstrom missions easier then the heresy event missions. Difficulty spikes up and then players, seems like a lot are either unaware or new. Scatter then splatter. I do a lot of damnation qp and people were doing the event on level 21 saw a 17 … getting their clothes folded while still wearing them.

Yeah I enjoy the craziness of havoc but it’s a bit much to push on the unsuspecting casuals.
I usually play havoc or auric but played a few malice missions just to get the event over with (I hate pox gas) and there were many times I was fighting multiple monstrosities…in malice! Way OTT considering the entire mission is in a bloody green cloud.
Why? It serves no purpose.
It gives you a bit of a boost when you’re inside the pox gas. For what it’s worth, it does make it easier.

Unfortunately, I will not play that event again. I think it’s the worst event we’ve ever had.
More you inject more bosses spawn… literally.
Well yes, I’m sure plenty of Damnation players were caught by surprise by the sudden difficulty spikes myself included at first. I initially attempted Auric, but I’m not certainly not able to save a run as the last player standing in that event on Auric so Damnation it is for that event. The constant Tox Gas and this -
ensure that rushing is harshly punished and playing meticulously with patience is the best course to victory. Gas starts to spew from the floor? Sit tight and find a chokepoint, it’s going to be a minute.
And everyone is incentivized to hit 10 stims for that tox immunity ASAP - +40 right off the bat. Plus, we Psykers need extra drugs for the voices
well it certainly aint hopeless, at least my full health oggy is having a blast.
as a bonus it’s a glimpse of havoc without having to mind the other rejects as much and in no way is one forced to cuddle beyond a dome or behind a book.
I pop some stims for %bonus and gas resistance, keep a green one handy at all times and whack my merry way.
especially since some drop due to inexperience in gas environment, the clutches are indeed fun.
honestly the pace and density of enemies, paired with the somewhat controllable boss spawns and having captain+others around without havoc number crap is refreshing and I enjoyed it more than some auric maelstroms
had one on enclavum baross and it felt more fair than say havoc modifiers that make carapace 1shot weapons mandatory.
at least here one could “divide and conquer” and still feel like fighting the mixed horde and crusher pack than constantly backpaddling in the hopes of eventually dropping a few.

Aside from the added spawns, the real problem is they put the stims in boxes and you get even less ammo.
We had a hell of an event mission in Damnation where we had to fight 7 or so bosses, including Twins. I only can reliably clear Heresy’s event missions 95% of the time if I’m playing with one of my buddies who play well and know how to survive there (many people still to this day apparently don’t know you need to stim up) and I know won’t ragequit on me out of sudden. But even with the buddy we can’t reliably clear Damnation (and usually we play Auric missions), it’s like 50/50 for us. Too hard for just 2 people, and other random players are often unreliable, and difficulty spikes randomly.
It’s stupid, it highjacks the whole idea of difficulty levels, what frustrates and alienates players. At least add a filter allowing you to exclude current event’s missions from Quickplay so that people could not randomly drop in one if they hate it.

That’s not even beating the dead horse of Pox Gas being one of the worst, unfun modifiers and never should have been used as a foundation of an event. If you absolutely had to use it, then JUST Pox Gas alone would be enough, with the stim buffet. No extra bombers, no extra bosses, it’s already disorienting, vision obscuring, it turns enemies into 2x fast HP sponges - that’s already a fair spike in difficulty, more than that and it turns into hideous experience for 99% of the players.
to be fair, at a certain age HRT can be pretty beneficial, so not all drugs are bad mkay ![]()
then again you can die from an overdose of basically anything, including H2O ![]()

I don’t usually get political, but H20 should really be outlawed.
