I have a suggestion. Instead of regular bottlenecked autogun bullets, load them with these. These… are what real world blanks look like. They are crimped in the front like a shotgun shell, because they don’t contain a normal bullet, and they need to hold in the powder. They open when firing to ‘let the gases out.’
They are also used to run heavy equipment on occasion, such as the Russian version of the ‘jaws of life’ which is loaded with these and firing them closes the jaws. (Doesn’t require a hose to a machine but has less options. )
This would effectively contain (and isolate from the air) any hyper sensitive compounds such as phosphorus, lithium, etc… and it would have a unique look that would stand out with minimal changes to the existing design, while also showing the phosphor pistol as loaded with something ‘weirder.’
i think that’d be cool but my immediate thought was: are the bullets ever even visible from the front? i guess it depends on the reload animation but i can imagine this detail being basically hidden anyway ingame
They are on the loading animation. We absolutely studied that with the stub revolver when the game was in beta. Same on the autoguns. We’d go frame by frame on the animations.
Heck, one time there was a bug where the revolver’s cylinder was missing and you just had the rounds floating in space.
