Suggestion- New Gameplay Type- Timed Escape

I have an idea based on a sequence in the Horus Heresy books- What if the area of a mission was going to be firebombed, and you had only a certain amount of time to make it to the next airlock before the area would be “purified”? Of course there be a plot/gameplay element that explains why Grendyl’s crew doesn’t just burn it in the first place- maybe the Rejects need to gather something sacred to the Imperial Cult, that would otherwise be destroyed. This could be where Scriptures could come in as a gameplay element other than “sacrifice an inventory slot for dockets”. Similar pressure could be applied by having a slow-moving, near-unbeatable entity chasing the rejects, and it’s a mad rush to fight through the hordes to get to the next airlock.

I think the segment should not be able to spawn scriptures, or something that take the scripture slot, but instead have a carry on object that we need to extract and place on a servitor platform to extract before we can leave.

A good area for it would be the Hourglass vault section, or in an unused Throneside section.

Would lead to being annoying when you want to do quests

That’s a pretty great idea.
I loved the escape route in Hab Dreyko. Building a whole map around that would be nice, especially if it featured the dynamic map components such as those bridges randomly collasing leaving only one path more often.

A whole map with this would probably make too much pression and the weaker part of the team plus go against the “search the map for crafting material” aspect. But on a section it could be fun, like pushing a kart or carrying a battery in a toxic envirronement up the the air cleaner.

An other idea I would like is oversized boss fight, like having to run around a leman russ to target its weak points while its main canon is used for an other task. So you have to dodge the side arm and minions until you can break it with focus fire on some part and carrying a demolition charge

I had a not dissimilar idea for another level type. Rescue.

So many colleagues have been captured in the line of duty. Maybe we should go free them before they’re executed.
