i’m bald, but i can relate
refinery first room is a joke with randoms. they can’t stay together and cross it asap for the sake of their life, much less in gas.
Crazy how an iconic 40k gun was abandoned to dwell in the trash tier for so long.
Tho i have no idea what they can do, probably throw some rend or just buff carapace damage just as always.
It’s mostly an “okay” gun because Marksmen’s keystone gives it just enough damage. There’s really not much they have to do to make it fine: give it an assualt profile so it’s not as immobile as the Bolter, give it the same weakspot preference treatment the Helbore got, give it the new blessings Laspistol got, and maybe a higher base crit chance.
I would say it also needs higher cleave with current mobs density. The problem is the more you buff infantry las the less there is identity and difference between infatnry and lucius. Cause high RoF of infantry can’t compenstate lack of damage including anti armor anymore.
Infantry was designed for a different game DT once was, sadge.
Lasgun is straight meh unless you play on a lesser difficult or can stand still for several seconds to plink down Gunners with headshots.
Meanwhile, I can bob and weave with a Laspistol, easily killing Dreg Ragers with unbraced body shots while simultaneously shooting at a mixed horde.
I enjoy the Laspistol, so it’s not a big concern for me, but it’s strange that THE guardsman weapon is so underperforming when the lore paints a very different story on its usuability.
I just want to clarify that I’m not saying that you cannot roll with a Lasgun in Auric Maelstrom, but the effort to make it work is not worth it compared to a Laspistol or running a Helbore (the GoaT)
Also; where’s my Mars Pattern Lasgun?
If it was a veteran exclusive weapon I might agree but it’s not, what’s the point of it existing on zealot and psyker if it’s only good on veteran?
It was always only good on Vet and mediocre on every other class, even back in the old days when it was considered the pinnacle of ranged weaponry.
I fail to see how that matters? It just shows it has never been correctly balanced.
thats the thing with artificial fluff such as perks blessing talents and ![]()
the same weapon should do the same damage with every character.
if I hand my buddy a .50cal he wont be doing bigger holes with it even if he’s twice my size ![]()
for those dumb mmo mechanics that “need” to be present to capture the attention span of “modern” players, it should vary in speed toughness and health alright but thats about it.
ogryn hitting harder with a melee twice the size of a guardsman? duh, but his sausage fingers can’t operate a plasma gun and he moves slower at the same time.
balance.
one rifle doing 3 different types of damage on 3 different human sized chars makes no damn sense at all.
if you’re smart enough to point the shooty end at enemy and squeeze (don’t pull
) the trigger, the bullet aint prejudiced, it bangs the same
The damage is fine its the mobility that is ass. Even on zealot the havoc BP for gunners and reapers isn’t bad at all on headshot but not getting slapped on the ass or burning all your stamina while sprinting for one picosecond is a big problem with the weapon.
Oh and it kicks like a mule and has bad sight alignment.
There is a problem that a precise weapon designed around playing in a scope mode primary has a downside in a form of reduced fow, plus additional time for going scope in and out. Like the best guns in this game are those you can spray or hipfire.
To compensate that awareness penalty there either should be some additional defensive layers or insanely high damge it would justify the risk of tunneling your sight. Vet’s left branch partially sucks in re-creation of pre-skilltree Sharpshooter cause it doesn’t provide enough.
Add here infantry recoil animation is complete ass.
Perhaps they could remove spread from hipfire mode, but that will damage dmr idenitity.
honestly at this point they should give everything that isn’t full auto the ‘big head mode’ from Goldeneye hitbox. the las pistol and lasgun are uniquely aim requiring vs weapons that are aim suggesting, and a lot of those aim suggesting weapons do a lot more too.
or maybe I’m greedy and just want las pistol domination…
