Thank you for this amazing game and this beta !
I’ve played about 400 in vermintide 1 and also 400 hours in Vermintide 2. I’ve also played about 20 hours in Darktide, I think I’m ready to deliver you some feedback.
Stamina
First of all, I think we need to separate running stamina from blocking stamina. When you join a party, most of them will run across the map, like some sonic substitute, leaving you with no stamina to pary when a bad boy come at you.
You can’t just walk because you will be left behind like a hobbit in “rings of power”.
Sniper
In malicious already they are the common reason of failed party, they can’t take you out from a long range (indeed), mostly out of range of the Half of the teams weapons. They’re also quitte difficult to be spoted in dark area, their green eyes can be confused with any regular chaos guardsman. Nonetheless they make huge damage, in malicious they can one shot you in most middle party situation.
You can’t also revive with a sniper, most of the time he will take you down, that mean If the sniper is out of range of the surviving players, If they already fighting against boss, monsters, elites, horde, they are mostly already dead. You can’t, most of the time, fight, stay out of sight of the sniper and have enough room to dodge enemy attacks.
Visbility
In Vermintides, a lot of elites are visible,some enemy are huge (chaos Warriors, bosses, maulers) some have glowing green warpstone components (ratling, flame thrower, stormfeind) and others Make sound all the time. But I have to say the game is also much much brighter.
In Darktide some elite can be quite difficult to spot in those Darker environnement. Sniper like we said before for exemple, the lasersight isn’t enough, you need time to follow it and you often don’t that time. Armored one and ragers can be also difficults sometimes to See.
Worst indeed when you have Fog of War.
Revive
It seems, Not totaly sure, we can not parry when we revive some one, It’s really difficult to revive, in particular when we dont have a lot of HP Remaining. I’ve seen a lot of of party where the down mate was left behind because It’s way to dangerous to revive them.
Flashlight Rifle melee ability
Some rifles like the lasgun, have a flashlight. I think this is an error. First of all thoses rifles are midi range - long range weapon so their is quite no need for a flashlight when your shooting a 30 meters and more.
Also rifles are slow, they haven’t a quick swap hability to melee, most of the time they have a quit long reload animation, they realy need a special attack to protect the player or buy time to swap to melee.
I think flashlight should be a default player ability, with a button tu turn Off and on, even a cooldown If you want. And the rifles with flashlight should receive instead a punch/kick/slap/push/headbutt/etc ability. Just enough to buy time to swap for melee weapon.
