Someone would like squat as class?

Just curious.

Squats aren’t officially a part of 40k anymore. Ratlings are however.

Ok… “Vottans” then…

But Squats never died in my  .

I would like Ratlings, just because it’s something different. But it’s not gonna happen. FS
is gonna make whatever class is easiest to make.

I’d like to see a Ratling but any class that would change the play style radically from a generally similar human melee/ranged would be great.

Vet, Zealot and Arbites are all quite samey when it boils down to the gameplay. Ogryn and Psycher are quite different. It’s that kind of different I want. Something that requires a whole different way of playing.

Squats still are.

They’re only explored on the Necromunda side of the setting as of yet, but we have 2 category of them:

  • Necromundan Squats: Ironhead Prospectors, mining and prospecting guilds that aren’t scared to use Bolts, Power Hammers and tried and tested Dawi Votaan technology
  • Squats Mercenaries (and Hanger-On): 2 Squats that aren’t part of the Prospector guilds, and probably aren’t from Necromunda itself. Grendel Grendelson (:eyes:) and Ragnir Gunnstein

The only thing that was indeed destroyed in lore are the Squat’s Domain worlds, which mean that there isn’t any sizeable Squat force able to send Regiments in the IG\Abhuman Regiments.

But there are still notions that they can be on different worlds, having their specialities to subsist of on.

While I do not think they’ll pick Squats, due to PoV issues, and them preferring picking the Ogryn (Large PoV) instead.

I very much would love to see a Squat archetype/class, setting it around the gear available to the Ironhead Prospectors, the old Imperial Squats and possibly some of the less strange weapons that the Hearthkyn Hunter make use of.

Could even have them have a new type of shovels.

Also other than PoV, and basing them on new things, I don’t think they’d require a new way of playing per se, but neither would a Ratling.

Could give them stilts.

At that point it would be full on League of Votann Kins, which I would feel would strange to have here.

PoV is also less of an issue for a Squat that it would be for a Ratling

I prefer the true Squats, not the retcon ones…

I mean look at this little guys in Terminator Armor:

Adorable!

I still think letting Custodes wear clothes was a mistake but that is another story.

They played the long game.

After the Femstodes retcon, they could never have them wear no clothes in this day and age….

Do you hear someone screaming “Murder”? Do you hear it?

Question, what is the biggest one? I know Ogryns well, but I thought that the only thing bigger than them would be the Custodians.

Next class is Rowboat Girlyman! Confirmed!

I hope not.

Gameplay wise I’m pretty sure it’ll be more of a support class, I’m sure there’s not many gaps to fill

Zealot - “Melee” / Vermintide 2 Class

Veteran - “Ranged” (even tho he’s OP at melee rn)

Ogryn - Tank/Damage

Psyker - Glass Cannon magic resource management aka Vermintide 2 Sienna

Arbites - Selfish Allrounder

So… the only real choice we have is something support related or something that involves the player setting up things (inb4 DRG turrets lol)

Not really, I honestly find Dwarves (and similar things) overrated. Gotrek and Bardin are the only Dwarves I like, they’re usually just kind of annoying.
