The elites were not moving…
Don’t miss the forest for the trees, smite is a problem. I can’t really be wowed by the performance of other players because there was no challenge, there was no obstacle. There’s no skill on display.

If you abandon Teammates in a team game just because they don’t confirm to your preferred build and play style, you’re no better than them, but actually the problem in my book.
When I get away of him, he handles the situation… not my fault if he thinks the smiting is cool and that he cannot kill anything…
And no, I won’t stay around a smiter. You can’t play.
Anyways, in close to all my games, I am checking chests and so the “team” is busy rushing… So, yes, playing on my own is something I am used to.
As I have said numerous times, I just want a solo game mode, exactly for that.
I am sorry, walking in middle of enemies that are always staggered is not something fun. Also, with a build like mine, you loose a lot of the DPS, critical chances, Damage reduction, Toughness damage reduction and Toughness replenishment.
I play mostly Auric and Maelstrom. At these difficulties, I expect every other player to be able to manage themselves. They have to be able to kill stuffs.
But, there are lot of psykers that have smite and that use it wisely and that do not smite the entire level… They are usually able to kill their own stuff, especially when you see the current power that the psyker have.
Tbh I rarely come across smychers so have much less of an opinion on it than many of you.
I do wonder what it would be like in high havoc to play with a smycher. Could be interesting given the craziness and density of the enemies.
Had it a few times, nothing to write home about. Smyker handles chaff, team does the other stuff. If there is a big spawn (multiple monsties/captains) this should stay the same or the failure chance increases. Except the big spawn is bigger or equal than four units, then load outs of the non-boss killers don’t matter anymore. A purga gets probably a bit more DPS in this scenario but wouldn’t make the difference.
i had the privilege of playing with someone who iirc didn’t use anything but smite for the whole game. at least i didn’t see him using that force greatsword he was carrying a single time. the best part was, whenever one of us 3 others caught a net, he didn’t make his hands dirty, but kept smiting to make sure someone could free that player.

It’s your fault if you leave a teammate in a tight situation just to teach them a lesson. You don’t just risk to ruin their day but also everyone else’s if the mission fails with one player down.
Turning your argument around, it’s not your teammates fault if you think it’s cool to play a multiplayer game like a singleplayer game.
As I have said numerous times, I just want a solo game mode, exactly for that.
Then maybe consider playing solo games instead of punishing others for playing something that doesn’t fit your preferences.

So, you do abandon teammates just because they don’t confirm to your preferred build and play style. I find that very questionable and arrogant in a team game. Instead, maybe just leave a lobby if you see a Psyker with smite in it.

Then maybe you’re playing at a difficulty that’s too low for your skill and you should play at one that makes team play mandatory. Possibly you’d see more value in support roles then. Just a thought.
just use the mod if you cant handle playing with other people and get triggered by others having fun with their build
going to play perma smite with scriers gayze now
There’s a critical flaw in your logic here, leaving someone like a perma-smyker down after repeated attempts to give them a chance doesn’t make the game harder, it makes the game easier, often considerably so.
The win rates, like these stairs, go up not down when problem players are ignored, it’s usually the only way they’ll learn.
im really glad to see this perspective coming from a new player. its so obviously bad for the health of the game and yet its still doing this
why does bro have the peril sound turned on
I’ve been playing since November of 23’, have 1k+ hours in the game, majority as Psyker.
I see how the original post would lead someone to believe otherwise, I meant that from the perspective of a new player a turn off switch like this Smite build is much easier than learning melee mechanics
They don’t know what they’re doing, they don’t know what they’re doing.
What a joke of a game.
learn what exactly? that ur teammates in a MP are going to be toxic when you do the best CC in the game for them or play whats fun? doesn’t mean the person using smite is bad, i have hundred of hours in the game and i always play smite with psyker and can stand my own ground w/o it as well in melee with psyker; its just fun to use smite and its the best CC in the game.
can i leave an zealot with chorus or vet with voc down too now? so they learn to play instead of relying on golden toughness spam, im gonna let people with DS die now too so they learn to play and not rely on meta spam or golden toughness let see what the reaction of that going to be
False equivalency notwithstanding, and I feel stupid responding to this as it’s silly/bad faith, nothing prevents the vet from doing other actions like moving and attacking, and zealot (and now bet) cannot simply spam it for the entirety of the match; this really didn’t deserve a response.
Pure ~perma-smyking CC is not a boon to the team it’s a detriment and in the majority of cases, seems you’re vastly overestimate what the smykers give up for CC and what they take away from the rest of the team. Hundreds of hours you say?
It’s been discussed ad nausem feel free to peruse some older threads.
If you’re one of the 1-5% of smiters who actually melts stuff and doesn’t hold down the smite button 100% of the time, this doesn’t apply to you.
You might be on to something here! I think you may be the first person to bring this up! Maybe make a new topic as this is only tangentially related to the topic at palpatining hand.
i never once saw anyone just 24/7 smite and how is that a detriment to the team? sure psyker could also spam purgatus staff so much better and how does psyker take away from the team? makes it a lot easier when one is using CC ability while other focus on taking the enemies down; not everyone has to solely focus on damage because of their dumb scoreboard mod which should be banned anyway…like the four classes actually going for different roles instead of all just malding to get max dmg and only playing the same slop build due to it
Nobody give a loot-rat’s arse about scoreboard, I was going to reply in further detail, but I think I’ve already expended more energy than your last post warranted and right at this moment, I don’t feel like it since all you’re doing is falling back on tired debunked arguments and now the scoreboard strawman.
If you think replacing a player with a ~100% CC ~turret is worth it, then we’ve just about fast-forwarded to the end, and I’d argue your hundreds of hours were not well spent.
RemineMe! 1000 hours.
i play the game for fun, its an pve not some 08/15 sweat pvp game. play something else if you dont like what other ppl enjoy in a pve mp game or play with friends and tell those what they can enjoy but not others. its good to know FS seems to ignore this threads and doesnt cater to some vocal sweatlord minority so keep malding while the majority of us enjoy the game
