Should FatShark really fear backlash for nerfing the Dueling Sword and other overpowered weapons?

And what happened after? Did their sales drop exponentially? And if they did, how long did it took for it to stabilize again?

This is pretty crucial information for the discussion at hand.

They’ve nerfed Wukong a couple times over the past few years so I can’t imagine it did very much to them. Each time resulted in thousands of review bombs but they just kept doing it.

From what i know all the threats of abandoning the game are empty tbh, ppl will simply review bomb the game and keep playing it lmaoo. At least thats what happened after the power sword nerf.

After all, only those who truly care and love will continue to pay attention and directly express their feelings.

and thats about the only correct way to go :+1:

I thought that FS doesn’t fear people leaving, per say but that they fear the game will look less appealing to people who never played the game before.

That’s why I was talking about the speed of which it takes for Recent Reviews to go from “Mixed” to “Mostly Positive”, because “Mostly Positive” looks better for people who aren’t sure about purchasing Darktide and they want to see if the game has good reviews.

That’s the same in other serves. All owe to Fatshark, they said it’s ok to play macro. Just in this forum.

Pretty sure there is a difference between macro exploit and macro combos, idk about the psyker issue but it doesn’t sound like the macro is used for combos or autofire ?

well they “legalized” weed here in germany couple years ago, doesn’t mean i’m gonna touch that :poop:

the fact that there’s an opportunity to use something doesn’t make it “legit” especially if a püssy macro is doing something few people could pull of with their timing and sheer joint movement.

personally I never used macros, never will and have a pretty “distinct” opinion on people who use them

So I am, but recently a mod named ‘Skitarius‘ is spearing over Asian serves. That mod is a pure built-in macro in game and made many players to become macro users. I think we should go report it.

while I agree (and personally would have a certain combo of cheat usage hardware-perma banned) I’m doubtful fatshark is gonna react on this or other “cheats” any time soon :man_shrugging:

I do use Skitarius actually only for the heavy laspitol/infantry lasgun, those 2 guns make my old wrist carpal tunnel hard … never needed macros for melee weapons tho.

There is a mod named ‘KeepSwinging‘. That mod can help you hold your weapon, and without other macro functions.

something like that should be built into the base game. i never had issues with carpal tunnel or fingers from clicking, but i click more than in any other fps and just don’t want to kill my mouse buttons.

skitarius is an “evolution” of this, or of unga bunga, and the issue with macros is that they allow one to perform actions with a speed and especially consistency that is just not humanly possible. and it’s visible to anyone with a bit of experience in this game.

I would so love to live in a world where what you say was true of enough people that the remaining minority didn’t drag us down to ruin.

Gresham’s Law is about currency, but, alas, seems to be a basic sociological principle: The bad forces out the good.

Also, @ another poster: Here’s a harsh truth - People are idiots. I cite the last, say, 3000 years of history. Not all people, and probably not even most of them, but far more than enough of them are credulous fools to make “nannying” necessary. Unless, that is, we get rid of all the restrictions and let honesty, malice, and civility truly duke it out on the forum. I, for one, would most definitely welcome the ability to say what I really think rather than resort to the dubious pleasures of genteel sarcasm.

The forum, after the literally-rhetorical bloodbath, might be a better place. Or it might be a cesspool.

So I can’t criticize FS for opting to go with the current system. It, after all, is what allows me to block a very few fools and then watch threads completely fill up with many, many people arguing against invisible idiots.

The sense of my own superiority this imparts is melancholy, but still immense.
