### Issue Type (Required):

Installation

### Issue Description (Required):

I was required to reinstall the game. I saved my user\_settings.config, but when I copy it into \AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2\ the game doesn’t accept it and uses a terrible auto config.
I spent hours to configure my settings. I’m not kidding, there are a lot of settings to test and set. So I don’t want to lose them. Is there any way to use my user\_settings.config?

I would use my mods, yes, but even the regular settings don’t work.

### Reproduction Rate (Required):

Constant (100%)

### Platform (Required):

Steam (PC)

Hi @Zoli,

Could your user\_settings.config file be set as read-only?

Otherwise, if this doesn’t take, the only other option would be to re-do your settings. I appreciate that isn’t ideal - though if you open your old user\_settings, you should be able to find many values for settings that you can then reapply in-game.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

There’s probably a mod setting/line that breaks the config. Try deleting the mod related text (but make a copy first of your user\_settings.config), and loading the game. If it works, add mod configs, bit by bit, troubleshooting which mod breaks it.

These lines start mod related stuff:

mods = [
…
]

mods\_settings = {
…
}

A notepad++ would be useful for this, so you’d see where the category ends. If you place your selection next to first bracket [, it’ll highlight the corresponding]

Thanks to both of you. My old config file seems to have been corrupted. Bad luck.
