Servers are COOKED

No kicks or visible stutter, but messages about slow work on EU server now and mission window takes seconds to open, while usually it is instant.

Im running the stock cooler so from my understanding that should be the first thing I needed to look at, after replacing the paste and still hard crash i ordered a watercooler to be certain it isnt a cpu temp problem. Should arive today.

Next thing that comes to mind would be my power supply since it is and oldie and with the watercooling im reaching the max.

Everything Else is semi new, less than a year old. (Had to replace motherboard, ram, cpu and did gpu at the same time)

Im running everything stock so to say, only adjusted fan speed of the cpu to max.

As far as im aware im only running a program to clean my pc everyday, cant Remember the name but it has features also for “gaming”

Im not running any nvidia program.

Im running games like gta, battlefield, cod, Diablo, metro and a few more, metro pulls the same amount of strain from my system what I can notice but with better overall looks and without hard crashing. Wanted to try cyperpunk but didnt since i think that would be to much for my system.

I checked my temp by alt tabbing I couldnt get it to work as an overlay. (Used to work) darktide demands alot overall in comparrison to other games from the cpu. After thermal paste change it reached max 90 c before crashing.

disable all features, especially if advertised to generate FPS

It doesnt have features that advertise that. I looked it up it is system mechanic.

same with “boosts” or any other active assistance, close it down completely and see if it does anything

how is the air flow of your case? mind sending a pic? you got enough ventilation?

I don’t know what GTA version it is or the other games…
But what you quote are all old games.
And you say Metro is already making the temperature go higher.
I am not sure that the situation is normal.
And yes, Cyberpunk may be too much for your system… actually.

As he has not a WC, I would advice also to check how fans are positioned. If you invert them, you don’t allow hot air to be replaced by fresh air.

All games are the newest releases., on paper most have higher requirements then darktide tho not all. I play 1440p. (Note I cant look true my list of what games are most demanding atm) I will give a more complete list when I can look at it.

Metro isnt making the temp as high as darktide, im sorry if i am not clear english isnt my native lanqauce. How do is explain this, more like you notice you are reaching certain points were you have to lower settings from high to medium in order to get better frame rate. But the temp isnt increasing by 30/40 c.

Edit: in darktide in general it doesnt even matter what settings i use exception beeing effects which i limit with a mod.

Honestly: I wouldn’t put yourself through the pain of turning things off and on, installing drivers, or even reinstalling windows. None of those would explain the temperature level.

It’s unlikely even to be your power supply.

Almost certainly I reckon it’s cooling. Highly likely the one on your CPU. I assume you’ve also some case fans too, but tbh, even modest case fans are generally sufficient.

*edit Did you try Prime95 ? You should be able to get through that without really high temps ~ I do a lot of ML training on all 10 cores of my CPU (100% usage for long periods) and it doesn’t crash.

ill try to make a pic today, airflow should be decent but the case etc isnt a beauty

Airflow is as follow, bottum and front is intake, back and top out take.

I have the panel of now cause im disasembling it atm

So i did a fresh install and my temp are already down from 50 idle to 30 idle.

Currently disasembling for the new cooler and repositioning other fans and better cable work.

Edit: had win 11 now I have win 10.

reminds me to my last build ^^.
Usually the side with print on is the direction in which the cooler is blowing out air, so the top ones and the black one (cant see to well) would intake air (if you are uncertain you can test by holding a piece of paper next to it)

I know there’s a certain type of breed of PC builder that going to hate me for promoting anything less than perfect mathematically calculated airflow but i dont think you need to adjust them at all. maybe could tickle out a few degrees tops. but it looks fine and shouldnt cause problems

Usually I do top and rear out take and bottom and front intake.

Both works

i dont follow

Yeah it is my first build from 15 years ago, atleast the case and disk driver haha. Bassicly a Frankenstein since i replaced parts every so often. Still have the noctua fans  but if it works it works I gues.

Now ill make everything look atleast decent in cable management and make sure everything works, i am planning to give it to my son and make another one from scratch

I am at 50° c at max with my CPU. Sure, it is arrow lake. But before I had same config and it was working well.
You just need, and that’s the most important, that the air flow is good.
20 years ago, I have learnt in the baddest way possible that fans had orientation. My second computer I did, I was alone… And I had put the fans without paying attention to that.
I ended with brutal computer shutdown for temperature that was exceeding the max.
But, I am sure of this… You can do both. Never tested what is the most efficient.
My opinion, that may be wrong, is that hot air always go up. So I have put the out take on top and rear.

why are you telling me this stuff? i dont understand

this is what it looks to me
