Rolling Steel seems to ignore FOV setting

Issue Type (Required):

Visual

Issue Description (Required):

Playing on Rolling Steel, it’s quite obvious that FOV settings are ignored. It seems to be using the default FOV.

Another explanation I’ve heard proposed is that the game is narrowing FOV for the “go fast” screen effect that is intended for when players are sprinting. If the train is actually moving in engine, the game could think the players have an absolute velocity and is applying a zoom effect even when standing still relative to the train.

Graphical performance is also bizarre, with input lag, microstuttering , and stuff on Rolling Steel that doesn’t happen on other missions. It may be that the mission is ignoring more graphics settings than just FOV.

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

  1. Set FOV to anything other than default
  2. Load into Rolling Steel
  3. See that FOV setting is ignored
  4. Also have consist microstuttering and input lag that isn’t on other missions

Mission Name (Optional):

Rolling Steel

[PC] Do You Use Mods? (Optional):

Yes, and I’ve tried disabling them

Reproduction Rate (Required):

Constant (100%)

Platform (Required):

PC - Steam

I’m pretty sure the train isn’t moving but it’s the background that moves.

Well yes, that is one of the tricks you use in programming. It’s way harder to calculate pathing on a moving thing than just make everything you’re not standing on move.
