Whats the deal with not being able to fire one shot with the rippergun? A weapon that has prohibitively low ammunition to begin with, and I’m forced to fire multiple shots? Seems pretty ridiculous.
Lore wise they’re extremely simple and sturdy weapons, because ogryns tend to use everything as a club at the end of the day.
[Edit: I’m pretty sure in lore they’re burst fire only though, for two reasons. First, ogryns are bad at aiming so more rounds means more chances of hitting your target. Second, if ogryns could fire full auto they’d just empty their magazines immediately.]
Unfortunately, all ripper guns have burst fire on them. There’s some that fire less shots per burst if it’s hip fire IIRC (I think MK VI does this? Correct me if I’m wrong.)
If you really want to fire only single shots, swap your weapon to melee after the first shot. It requires some proper timing, but for now this is the closest you can come to true single fire.
the burst fire makes sense in the setting, but most ppl have better aim than your average ogryn.
Sometimes the setting has to be partly sacrificed for the sake of good gameplay.
Yeaaaah, that’s not really Games Workshop’s thing lol. They’re extremely strict with what is and isn’t allowed based on the lore, so if single shot isn’t a thing with Rippers in lore, there’s no chance in hell it’s ever happening. Sorry dude.
Also hot take, burst fire isn’t “Bad gameplay”, it’s just the tradeoff of having a powerful weapon. Having a strong ranged weapon that’s ammo hungry means you have to be careful when you shoot and when to conserve ammo and let veteran sharpshooter take care of things. It’s meant to fire a lot of shots to suppress enemies (Although in practice it’s not that good).
If you want precision aim, take grenadier gauntlets. One of the most accurate weapons in the game with high single target dps, perfect for sniping specials and elites.
