I’ve been playing skitarii for a while now (I’m level 400+) and I noticed that literally every other keystone does what it does but better.
Flensing Protocol gives the best toughness regen as basekit. Attack speed and crit with a really good uptime and a nice capacitance generation option
Power Overload gives EVERYONE %15 damage bonus and toughness damage reduction and about 5 minutes later you get %15 damage %20 toughness damage reduction and %25 capacitance generation. Literally the best keystone for the team and yourself because of the absurd bonuses it gives.
What does Redline Capacitors get?
%20 toughness reduction %20 capacitance generation and 1 ability charge.
An ability that gives %15 rending when we have 3 stacks of or above capacitance (in a spam ability keystone)
%5 strenght per stack of ability you had ( IN A SPAM ABILITY KEYSTONE)
I am not a game developer. But this keystone needs a change/buff. Make resource optimisation canticles basekit (the one where it gives +1 charge) and give the keystone another way to generate capacitance. For example it can give depending on the capacitance we have. The lower capacitance stacks (%3 per stack) we have the more we generate up to %15 more (total of %35 bonus generation)
This keystone should’ve been THE keystone to use for capacitance gain and ability usage. but literally every other one does it better.
Edit: After playing with redline capacitors for 30+ matches I was wrong. I got the talents wrong. It is not weak but it eats talent points too much to work. And I still believe it needs a tiny bit more cd reduction ability.
I’ve always had a hard time using red line. After finding out just how strong flensing protocol was. In my opinion, it completely dumpstered the other keystones. If you purposely weren’t trying to make a thematic, build it completely dominated the other ones.
And to be honest, I don’t want it to be changed, because it is pretty much exclusively the best way to play Rust Stalker.
Buff red line maybe buff, the other one I don’t care, but just do not touch flensing protocol anymore please.
That %2.5 nerf hit hard. I’m still bummed about the chordclaw nerf too. So its fine for flame staff to kill everyting infront of you in 3 seconds ,including elites with carapance, is fine but chordclaw hitting more than 3 elites was not. skill issue I guess
When you use it as a burst it will reduce the effectiveness of its perks like strenght bonus rending and toughness regen. Not only that because redline stacks are 12s if you don’t use your abilities again getting 5 redline stacks and ability will be longer
You didn’t read the keystone. That’s why you think it sucks.
The strength buff maintains 5 stacks regardless of how many capacitance charges you had when you used your ability. So you use it at 5 stacks, then every ability use after that maintains the buff at 5 stacks.
The rending bonus is given based on how many redline stacks you have, not how many capacitance stacks you have.
So you have a lot of uptime on those buffs. It only goes down basically when you have a big gap between engagements, which means it gets better as you go up in difficulty.
What I will agree on tho is that it’s by far best when used with the claw, and the interaction with voltaic might need reconsidering.
Oh I didn’t knew the strenght one. Rending is definitly my bad. But the other thing is using most of your capacitance stacks and waiting for them to regen takes too long since you need to generate more. Especially between engagements because you lose stacks. %25 regen is not enough imo
Flame staff is a second slot weapon. Chordclaw is an ability. You trying to compare two different tools to proof chorclaws nerf was unfair, arc rifle easily compete with flame staff in damage and efficiency expect ammo, cuz its both are weapons.
Basically that if you use voltaic it takes up to 3 charges for a single use without the option to only use 1. If you could use only one with a quick tap, similar to how the claw already allows you to tap or hold the ability, then it would work a lot better with redline.
Imho redlining with chordclaw its quite strong. I actually could never make work flensing protocol. On paper it sounds great, but in real game i alwys get hit occasionaly, so the uptime values were pretty poor.
You took Flensing with Chordclaw because the Higher Purpose subnode gave an immediate 5% charge on Elite kill with no CD. This meant it actually gave more Chordclaw strikes than Redline overtime. I’m not sure if this is still the case after the nerf and Redline buff last patch.
I’d say it’s still a pretty good keystone. It increases strength, toughness damage reduction, capacitance generation, and lets you use abilities a few more times in a row. It’s also the only source of rending.
I don’t use it very often because I either max out crit with Flensing Protocols or use Power Overload to save talent points while still getting decent bonuses plus extra team utility. So I’d actually welcome it if there were more going on with Redline Capacitors.
For example, introducing a few more talents that get stronger per charge would be a nice indirect buff.
My only complaint about RC is the lost synergy with Voltaic Emitter.
I think I should get more efficiency as charges grow, up to 5.
Chord Claw and ACD have a plain effect with more RC stacks: more time and more times.
It would be fascinating to prolong the VE boost from 3 stacks to 5.
For example, add more arcs with a subnode, a longer disarm, and more time for the electrocute buff in exchange for 5 stacks at once.
