Would you like a traditional scoreboard post match, no highlights/green circles, general game stat details under Fatshark’s guidelines. (forgot to mention this would be disabled by default, toggle on in options)

Last year Fatshark Forums outperformed STEAM forums in participation 94 over 37, I’m curious / general experiment if we maintain our stance on scoreboards and participation of care for Darktide… also to squash any new debates popping up here and just be settled with the vote.
I answered yes, but I would like to clarify though - it must not be “general”, it must be detailed. about as detailed as the “vanilla” Scoreboard mod. Though I would really love it to be Power DI level detailed. I want to know both kills and damage dealt, split in categories (chaff, melee/ranged elites, specialists, disablers, bosses etc). And also how much damage every player took, how much HP they healed, how much ammo points they spent and ammo pickups they took. How many assists and revivals each player did.
Also ideally numbers for suppression and stagger dealt (or how many “enemy points” you dragged upon yourself as Taunt ogryn).
Why no highlights? Anyway scoreboard should be added and have extended options in both games. Today i played as ironbreaker in VT 2, why do i need damage/kills numbers aside from specials, when i need to know enemies staggered but ingame board mostly shows kills and damage, unlike my DT scoreboard mod that got this parameter and which i used for one of my ogryn builds.
Because they are offensive to a modern gamer who has all the time in the world to whine online about so-called “toxicity” instead of getting better at the game.
I’m not setting any goals of “getting better in the game” myself (and find the general idea kinda stupid tbh, it’s just a game, to have fun) - but the problem with this premise is that it’s just made up. The issue of “toxicity” doesn’t exist at large, it doesn’t exist in other similar games that have scoreboard. Some rare minor incidents that - I’m sure - had place don’t justify removal of such vital feature required by many people for different reasons.
And no, mods is a poor substitution for an ingame thing.
I think it’s stupid to care if you truly think its stupid. Most people who play 1 game every 3 months of darktide wont bother looking at the scoreboard at the end anyway. It literally harms no one.
Some numbers mods show are often inconsistent, or don’t look right. Some counters simply don’t work. Generally, we can’t even be sure those numbers properly reflect the actual stats as we rely on work of some enthusiast who does it all in their spare time, without (probably) deep understanding of game’s engine. And all those issues may stay unfixed for a while, for the same reason.
Just after the last update mods were broken for about a few weeks, and in the end you had to use some “community patches”, often developed by somebody from internet not associated neither with the mod creator, not FS. If people don’t see this situation as horrendous I don’t know what is then.
I don’t even want to start on how it all looks like from information security standpoint - what should be at least considered in the modern era (installing some code from unverified 3rd parties on your PC). And that’s just because FS are lazy or listen to a bunch of insecure people not representing their community at large.
Something like Power DI would be great. It can’t be so simplistic that it gives new players the wrong impression on how to play and be good at the game.
But lets be realistic… Every time there is discussion on adding a ‘scoreboard’, some of the ‘pro scoreboard’ camp drag out the same straw-man, tear it down, and then go on to claim the real reason people are apposed to the score board is to hide how truly bad they are and show just how toxic some people can be about the scoreboard.
Instead of engaging with the reality of the situation and trying to work with FS to get a ‘scoreboard’ that alleviates FS’s concern, we get people calling FS lazy and lying about why the scoreboard was removed in the first place.
hard no, since it’s far to “soft” and “feel good” to have any learning effect on those that would need to reflect on their performance.
for those adept ones, the numbers are a fine tuning tool to tweak a build or test some blessings that at first glance don’t look like much unless they synergize in weird and until then unknown way.
the inept ones need a hard, real hard, facts check as “in your face” as possible to absolutely and inarguably demonstrate the wrongness of their own “narrative” b-b-but ….smite….support…. me helping.
one can’t force em to watch entire replays to show the areas that need to improve, but being the last down the line every damn match, day in, day out, can’t me “fun” for anyone and maybe, just maybe make em either improve or step down a difficulty.
both a huge win for those that need to play with em by chance.
facts aint “nice” facts don’t care about “feelings”, so every fact should be laid bare at the end in the scoreboard.
so is soccer, yet people literally get killed over it if a leather ball doesn’t hit a net
people get passionate for the weirdest things.
as long as three others don’t have to give up their “fun” in case they DO pay attention to proper performance at a certain difficulty setting, all is well.
You are talking about professional sport, and also one that has been insanely hyped by the media over decades, to turn it into highly profitable show and a sort of a way of venting out inter-national tensions that doesn’t involve guns and bombs. While Darktide (and 99.99% of other games) is just a game to have fun and nothing more. They have no other meaning and purpose, if you think they do, it’s only in your head - and in heads of a small percentage of other players, overly-fixating on one particular game for no good reason.
I too would like “harder” options but if FS is even to change course its obviously going to fall under their guidelines, the intelligent will be able to figure out who would have gotten the green circle anyhow =p
Though I disagree having the neutral stance on main vote I added additional pole for you.
Yes. Let people see this. Seeing they’re dead weight might shame the fodder into at least making an effort to learn the basics instead of trying to block every trapper net and mutant with their face but honestly, probably too much to hope for.
Personally I’d also like a “What hit me pop up” you get downed and recommendations / loading screen quotes based majority of damage.
Pox Burster kill “did you know you can shove them away?”
Gunner “The emperor recommends dodging, sliding and taking cover”
…or just dark grim rubbing it in
Also its just so strange seeing the numbers around 73% / 27% for the 4th time @.@
….if a pvp mode did come to Darktide I’d rather it be a 4v 1or2 where the 2 get to become the map director like a dungeon master rather than take control of specials… because there be a lot of trappers and bombers -.-
