Plasma gun Doesn't feel satisfying to use

True but I don’t think it’s a big deal, especially now you can have 100% uptime again. It’s very strong and killing fast is still the best way to win, especially when killing fast also means more CK stacks.

This is just not my experience. There is no high pressure situation that doesn’t involve lots of elites and specials, which means you always have CK fodder when you truly need it. Meanwhile Zealot ain’t getting a heap back from heavy attack kill if he’s facing a group of tough elites. I’m yet to find a Psyker loadout that can take anywhere near the beating of CK + IW Vet. Besides just having much lower total toughness to work with they really don’t have many or potent DR options.

There are times I’ve literally just let trash mobs beat on me while continuing an elite killing streak and they’ve struggled to even chip me. There are still so so many squishy elites like gunners and shotgunners being spammed every map, and with plasma + Exe you have wall hacks and can shoot through anything that isn’t a crusher to keep that kill streak active.

Yes there are tankier things in game than Exe CK IW Vet, you’re definitely less tanky in most situations than most Zealot builds, VoC Vet or any Ogryn build (though honestly you can tank gun fire better than Ogryn if he has no melee mobs around to build toughness and DR on), but it’s plenty tanky, and you still have infinite nades to help get out of tough spots.

The tree I posted really should be plenty survivable enough especially considering its damage output. Naturally if you greed DPS and pair Plasma with Power sword you’re setting yourself up with no mobility to work with but that’s a fair trade for the power of that loadout, and there’s nothing stopping you bringing a claw sword or something to help you clutch if it comes to it.

If the damage boost does something then yeah. I come to love Plasma again running an Executioner’s Stance build and it’s absolutely slaps. I don’t think the Combat Ability needs a defensive aspect boosted.

I specifically compared ES vet with other classes. All Zealot combat abilities save you one way or the other while a lot of regen node combo will keep you alive well enough.

With Psyker you will get Toughness back as long as you do something and a lot (although it isn’t as indestructible since the soulstealer nerf). While Psyker doesn’t get outright regen its Talents work similarly in practice and both Shriek and Dome are very powerful defensively. I’m running 2xToughness curio and it’s very cosy with One with the Warp.

I won’t even comment on Ogryn, because while it’s true that Vet can take more gunfire than Ogryn without any enemies around, you have to play horribly or actively put yourself in harm’s way to save allies to go down on Ogryn. It’s the tankiest class there is.

You forgot that I said when it’s active. If you just nuked a shotgun train with plasma you will be super tanky for the next 10 seconds.

If you have about 2 stacks running chipped by gunfire with 4-5 enemies in your face you won’t be letting them beat you down because they’ll definitely will.

I think the same. I just don’t think deluding ourselves that Executioner’s Stance Vet is tankier or easier to recover from a bad situation than (almost) anything else is a good idea.

Absolutely. It’s survivable enough for the damage output. At least on Plasma + PS/Claw sword it definitely is.
