If you jump while attempting to pass through one of these portals the game periodically will hammer you, and I mean it is devastating, with some sort of penalty.
Usually it is that you are instantly downed, which if you are in a wounded state it kills you.
I was finishing the run that begins in usingen, all team alive and full health all bots, when I jumped passing through the portal all the forward momentum I had was inverted and it pushed me backward in the air causing me to end up hanging off the cliff, staring at the waystone portal. NONE of the bots came through the portal to pick me up.
Please fix.
