Hi all,
Ive played Darktide for a good while, on and off, through Steam.
Outside of a total of 2 disconnects over a 120 hours, Ive had a smooth ride.
Recently, this is becoming more common. Every day when I play (sometimes this is a few hours) I crash. Frequency varies. Sometimes once after an hour or two, sometimes 2-3 times.

My Specs:
- Ryzen 5 7600, has an undervolted profile.
- 4070 super
- 32gb 5600mHz ram
- Installed on SSD NVMe M.2 (40% of the SSD remains free)
- Running 2k (2560 × 1440)
- NO mods for the game, never had, never will.
What I did/checked so far.
- Updated all drivers.
- ran Sfc /scannow (no issues)
- Verified integrity of the installation
- Deleted and rebuilt shader cache
- Deleted the %appdata% Fatshark / Darktide folder.
- Reduced my thread count to match CPU cores, yesterday reduced it by one more (CPU has 6 cores, Threads were originally 9, changed to 6, now to 5).
- Locked FPS at 120, now 90
- DLSS disabled for testing / AA is TAA / reduced GPU intensive settings other than textures.
- Currently clean-installing the game.
- Game runs fullscreen, no v-sync. Monitor has G-Sync, not sure if disabling that in nvidia control panel makes a difference.
- I disabled steam overlay. disabled Nvidia overlay.
Honestly, I dont know what causes this, I know the error highlights the GPU stops communicating to windows, but I do not have this issue with other games.
