Opinion on Expeditions Two Weeks In

Yes of course and I am always the first person to state this when all the people (who talk like that that Temp guy) keep banging on about being good at havoc as if it doesn’t count on teammates.

I always say that havoc requires 4 good teammates. Every member of the team needs to be a great player for the team to succeed in h40. I heartily accept this and heartily accept that the rng affects the mission winrate, but that doesn’t stop it being my difficulty. I am suited to that difficulty and accept that I need to strike some luck with teammate RNG.

Same can be said for expeditions, where winrate on all other map nodes has been lower than expected but still reasonable. I don’t mind some losses and expect them when playing pubs but the last 2 weeks have been insane. Like, literally not a single teammate has been able to stay alive for more than 2 zones. Perhaps it’s bonkers bad luck but I still feel it is the right level of challenge for me.

You should know my forum activity well enough by now to know that I don’t talk with ego. I don’t mind people having a crack at higher difficulties and I don’t mind losses but this experience has truly been something else. It’s just been damn weird.

All the other nodes were pretty quick to complete in auric and as mentioned before the real issue is hounds and how totally OTT the bs modifier is on the wide open map. That won’t change on a different difficulty and if anything might be worse as I’d expect even less help from teammates whilst I’m doing all the objectives and tasks on my bloody tod.

If I know I’m pulling my weight in a difficulty then I’m not dropping it. I’m just surely due some good teammates by now. I’ve had them on all other nodes eventually…but this last node has a curse.

Of course! Bigger is better! And more handsome, that’s logic!

I’ll need to try an auric with dogs today to be sure for comparison, but it hasn’t been ridiculous on heresy/damnation IME.

You can also play one of the easier grid points, there is a night one with a very long timer that is perfect if you want a relaxed game, I mostly just quicklplay though I’m used to utter chaos.

Ty dude. Whilst my complaint on the hounds expedition modifier is universal because there is way too many of them, my teammate RNG complaint is exclusively on that far right node (5 zones with tornado and hounds). Have a go at it on auric and it you get good teammates I’ll be raging :joy:

Thanks mate, I’ll defo give it a go. Tbh I’ve been switching to box of nades for hounds as I find I really need a long range weapon for all the vast numbers of gunners and reapers.

Without helpful teammates, the big guy doesn’t have any 1 build that covers all bases unfortunately.

I’m tempted to switch to arbites for this last bloody node. Recharging stun mines are mega useful

Go for it, I made a melee psyker venting shriek build specifically to counter the dogs.

Worse comes to worse and we’ll just group up, if that doesn’t defeat you challenging yourself with the randoms the emperor sees fit to burden you with.
