Only being able to reroll ONE perk on an item is asinine. You need to change this NOW

Also if you are calculating that: add to that variant of weapon. Lets say I want Tactical Axe but I want MK II, not MK VII and I want blue with right perk + RIGHT BLESSING as if many people prediction is correct you will be able to reroll/change only one blessing out of two.

P(A n B) though I may have made mistakes. I didn’t factor in the amount of weapons out there, because that would just be really depressing to see the number drop even lower and some classes have access to less weapons than others.

Well, I really hope I made a mistake, 'cos that number is borderline unacceptable.

If you could: could you make full accurate calculation, no holding back? Nothing make people realize how horrible loot aquisiting design is than seeing you need YEARS to get something in game.

It was simillar with Diablo Immortal once calculations were available or with Overwatch “2” when someone calculated how much time you need to get skins. But those were F2P games!

So here it’s important to show people how scammed they are getting.

It was only a short thing in the earlies, cataclysm wasn´t even a thing at this time.

The droprate got increased fast, also that you get them through ALL legendary chests and the emperor champion ones. The chances increase with the chest-rarity ofc, legendary emperor chests seem to have a chance up to 20% as rumours said.

You could also get them with a really low chance from Comm-chests aswell.

Unless they have changed something back, it´s still a thing.

Btw:

" Jeez …
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1m-93NoKPATGH8hTPlVGAxXJ_YJYjho3pJ6hmlFQ-Uz4/edit#gid=0

If even opening googledocs is too complicated, short summary:
Commendation chest, 1% droprate
Champion general chest 2%
Legend emp vault (the best chest) 20%
Rest between
"
This is about the red droprate from early 2021.

And again… Vermintide had 0% progression once you had some reds. This game will offer long-term progression. If you´ve able to crush damnation even with grey stuff, it shouldn´t be a big deal to miss godrolls and just to keep playing and enjoying the challenge.

Pippie, you’re not the minority. I haven’t seen ANYONE who likes the gacha bars. They should ditch that system entirely and just have the weapon stats be the weapon stats.

Good. That’s how it should be. That’s reasonable number + also making playing higher difficulties + secondary objectives (grims/tomes) meaningful.

Current progression is only good for grind addicts like you. They got you man in their golden cage with bone outside, just outside of your reach keeping you hungry enough so you will still do tricks in cage in hope to get the bone.

Next to you i don´t need rewards, i play for the gameplay instead of hunting or relying on stats.

I´m just able to see the positive aspects of the current design you guys miss out, because you´re clearly addicted to get the big stuff as fast as possible and can´t see that there a bunch of other players would be bored af if they get their godroll after 20h of gameplay.

There are games with a bunch of RNG blocking your progress, even killing the last 100 hours of grind through backsteps etc… just look at typical asia grinders. But in this case, you don´t need them to progress in kind of gameplay. The godrolls are just an “ontop” for playing.

You guys just don´t want to see something else but some opinion-based negative sides.

Well, you have 37 weapons on Psyker that can show up and you have 12 spots. I am assuming that they have a restriction that says you can only have 1 of each weapon

That means you have a 1:37 and 1:12 chance to get the weapon you want: That’s a 0.22% chance that one of these weapons are in fact the weapon you want on a single event.

Of those single events you have a 1:80 chance that it is a 380 or 1.25% that means the chance to get the weapon you want and the chance it is 380 is 0.00281419%

Of that there’s a 3:5 or 60% chance that it has the right stat distribution… That’s 0.001688514% chance (it’d be even lower if it was just 1/5).

Then there’s a 1:3 chance that it’s a green (as there’s only 3 qualities in the store) and a 1:12 that either of these are a green… Which is a 2.7489% chance then we need to factor in the chance of that green having 1 of the 20 perks they can have which should land us at 0.137445% chance…

So… Hmm 0.00000232078%

It also depends how the whole selection system is done once a weapon has been rolled. So there are likely variances… Don’t have access to the code so… No idea on whether it chooses weapons then rating and quality then perks or what it does… Regardless of how it does it, the number is insanely low.

Important to note is that: This chance is only for 1 item in the store to roll. There’s 12 chance so in the end it’s more like: 0,00002784936% chance
I mean… It doesn’t make much difference, but eh. You could in theory be lucky to get 12 perfect rolls in one go.

These chances are about as likely as you going to win on a lottery scraping ticket and it is the exact same thing that F2P mobile games use to have you buying their overpriced crap in the store.

Yet you defend RNG fiesta despite saying you only play for gameplay. If that was true then it wouldn’t matter for you if you can get good rolls reiable fast. Player get godroll after 20h of gameplay? Oh, no!

That’s 70 weapons x 20h = 1400h to get godroll on every weapon without curios

Even your “super fast godroll” stat shows how detached you are from how it actually works.

I’m curious. To those that know fatshark (ie played vt/vt2), will fatshark typically listen to this type of feedback from their community? It seems like the feedback is largely against the excessive RNG system they have in place currently, but they also seem very stubborn and determined to do the system they think will milk the player base for engagement. My experience with fatshark is limited to the open beta of darktide so im genuinely curious what I’ve got myself into.

Well, they originally planned to milk the players by selling lootboxes in VT2, but then EU regulations threw a spanner into that plan.

More like SW: Battlefront controversion but yeah, I agree it was their plan, they just had bad luck with timing.

Isn’t it rolling one perk, but not both at the same time ? Like it lock the other perk to keep it static, but if you want to change it too you can also roll it afterward ?

I have to admit tho that something feels off, because I don’t want to believe it’ll take you 4 million hours to guarantee the right weapon showing up.

So somewhere I hope they have systems in place to reduce the rng, because having none… would be ludicrous.

No, you can roll 1 perk and that locks the other perk from ever being rerolled. You may, however, reroll that perk as much as you want.

Also remember that most people only have 2hours of play which may give them 3 chances a day, so those 1400hrs are more like 4200hrs

I think it’s fine. Perhaps you need to keep your OCD in check. If it’s super easy to craft the best item easily there’s no longer a hunt, no hunt, you stop playing.

Maybe worry less about having the perfect weapon and just focusing on what you do and if you get a piece of gear that makes you better in game. It’s easy.

My experience with V2 is entirely anecdotal, but I do not believe the game is over once you roll your reds.

I have 320 hours in V2 according to steam, I’ve gotten every character to level 35 and am still working on my red weapons for all my characters. I’m still grinding away after 320 hours on a $30 game i bought during a sale with all DLC. My “end goal” for V2 is having at least one setup on every character/class combination with red items and to try my hardest to complete as many Okri challenges as I can.

I love V2 because the ability to grow is entirely on my and my teammates abilities in game to perform well and receive lootboxes with 20% chances of red items.

I have stopped playing Darktide because the items given here have several RNG checks and getting good items is no longer even closely related to my abilities. I have no desire to level other characters due to 0 shared currencies, curios, or weapons. I cannot run whatever mission I want anytime I feel due to the poor design of a map, based on RNG. The weekly challenges feel vastly more impactful than Lohner’s Shilling shop, but its still an absolute RNG mess.

Apologies for the tangential rant, I want to like this game, but the factors that remain entirely outside of my control do not give me a positive feedback loop, prompting me to play anymore than the 60 hours i put in. Im glad youre having fun, i just hope things get changed to not make playing a game feel more like doing chores or a job.

There is a difference between REASONABLE hunt and IMPOSSIBLE hunt. You seem to totally not comprehend the level of RNG in this game. There is no hunt. You can’t even HUNT for stuff you want as you have no influence on that. That’s not hunt as much as playing lottery is not a hunt.

While I would calculate some numbers in another way or weight them differently, it is just too much RNG, to be sure.

Of course we do not want only “REDs” with the perfect trait/perk combo, but come on, we also want and need a bit of fun on the way and to try different things out.

FS, you can not really want to add a worse and more RNG-heavy system than we had in VT2?
(Not to mention additional drawbacks like no shared resources/ curios and the like)
