With astonishing frequency that ruins the experience, abilities don’t activate, weapons don’t switch, clicking to attack doesn’t attack. All the usual. Why IS the guarantee ability activation and guarantee weapon switch mods required for this game to even be playable on my computer?
The fact that these mods exist proves the game has issues.
What is wrong with this game? Why is it ONLY this game? What went wrong during development and will it ever get fixed?
Cheapass dedicated servers, they’re EXTREMELY cheapass dedicated servers, and they switched to dedicated servers due to people being mad about shi*ty host connections.
Turns out the darktide mod framework is borked in latest patch and you have to wait for the DMF to get updated before you can use mods again. I was told there’s a temporay fix to be found on the darktide modding discord server.
Curiously the issue is completely gone when I mess around in the Psykhanium. Despite my best efforts I have been unable to get into a state where weapons refuse to swap or abilities refuse to activate in the psykhanium. As soon as I get into an online game the problem appears. So it must have something to do with internet latency of some sort.
Idk there was input buffer problem for ogryn guns you can’t shoot after sprint if click too fast. And some syncronization problem or smth skilltree doesn’t sawp with loadouts.
I’m pretty sure they intentionally made the input buffer delay, but I don’t know why anyone would actually want that. It was in the vermintide games too and there are settings for it in the menu. Maybe its a preference thing I’m not sure. I’m not sure if it causes additional input lag for some pcs or not but anyway.
It would be really nice if the modding community had access the early release because yes, without mods the experience is much worse.
I got everything running after I updated the Darktide Mod Loader.
I saw seeing this error initally:
GUID: e08fe405-67f6-4758-9539-22c613c524bf
Log File:
Info Type:
[Script Error]: module ‘scripts/main’ not found:
no field package.preload[‘scripts/main’]scripts/main.lua: cannot load incompatible bytecode
Only the select last played character mod didn’t work, but the game didn’t crash either.
I honestly wish Fatshark would make better use of the modding community, as modders are often faster when it comes to fixing the in-game issue, than they are. Why not have mods more officially integrated in the game? If they are high qulity mods.
