Just had a match where it felt like we were being stalked by the Radio Operator. We did one of the auspexes but never got a big rush of enemies. But snipers just kept popping up all over, being a pain. And I definitely saw the operator running away at one point. Really interesting!
A potential fix to make the effect of this enemy more apparent, other than waiting for players to get a feel for the increased special spawn, might be an intermittent whiny radio adjusting sound (like beeeeeeoooowwwWAHooooo yāknow what Iām saying!).
I pinpointed why the radio operator barely ever shows up, he seems to have something like the bomber AI that makes him walk around at high distance, but that includes behind the team and in out of bounds areas. He however doesnāt have a grenade to throw so he never really enters line of sight to do so. Most missions you never even get to see him because heās multiple rooms behind or to the side and doesnāt show up. Thereās definitely 3-4 spawns every mission, you just rarely ever get to see one because of this. When he does show up, you never even understand whats going on, you just think āwow thats a tanky gunner, and why is he there?ā
Also Iām convinced half the radio devices are hidden in the ground and in unreachable spots just like tomes, horrible to tie an event counter to something this inconsistent

Well, I tried to play today. One match was fine. The other had an operator which was nowhere visible, but I knew it was there due to endless trappers and snipers spawning.

And no, if you donāt see it it is cause player rushes the missions.
Except if they find a way to dissuade players to rush⦠any event like that wonāt work.
I will work really good however for players that donāt rush.
In solo I wait the little army and thatās great. There was one time where the little army was about to wipe me.

But maybe, instead of spawning on the back of the team, the enemy should spawn in front of the most advanced guy of the team. I say that, cause most of the time, the team never stopped⦠so most of the time the team was or split or I was alone.
Iām not sure itās actually conencted, Iāve noticed multiple in a mission where we found 0 devices.
I donāt think the problem is rushing also. They seemingly spawn behind you, but have no AI imperative to make them walk towards the players. So obviously unless you backtrack (which you have no reason to because you canāt hear or see them at this point) you wonāt see those. And even if you do notice it are you really gonna backtrack to go find the guy for no real reason?
Itās just broken, he needs different AI and spawn logic to work at all. Snipers and bombers spawn far too but they actually have AI that makes them seek out players and take spawn doors to position in front of them sometimes, too. This guy seemingly just runs around randomly and never enters the players vicinity.
That said this is probably pointless criticism and thoughts anyway. Theyāre just gonna remove the enemy again when the event ends. If weāre lucky we see him in Havoc when they need ānewā content for it.
so far, i found one comms device, didnāt have time to play with it, as i got interrupted all the time. grabbed a medkit instead which was far more useful.
next map, someone else found one, i stood watch so he could play with it, donāt know what the result was in the end, then we had to go.
anyway, one of the few penances i donāt have completed is scanning. i never bother with scans and minigames except for the classic 4-liner, i rather keep enemies off my mates when theyāre doing scanny things, so this is just not my kind of event i guess.
Just had a shower thought on this enemy type and itās just baffling.
The complaints from players have been that FS is relying too much on elite/special spam instead of making the combat more interesting. They now added a new enemy type for which the feature is⦠more special spam.
Fatshark frequently removes new Darktide content or moves event content from the Auric board to particular modifiers in Havoc mode as the event timer expires, preventing non-Havoc players from accessing said new content.
Darktide really needs additional content, particularly one major update that genuinely evolves the game.

but things should be possible to unlock within the game you are playing, i shouldnāt need to buy another game just to get some stuff. bad crossover event
Check your inventory and relog if not. No popup for it, but itās available for all platforms so thereās no way theyāre checking account purchases.
i will check again, maybe logging in again will fix it. good thing no need for other games, cause the blog didnāt explain it well or i didnāt read well
btw yea the fact there is no pop up it is a bit weird
and another thing weird is that in vt2 there are pop ups when unlocking things off an event (not always but they did that in past recently)
