Make Transonic blades parry from neutral

It’s very frustrating that one of the coolest weapon mechanics for a melee weapon, the stance swapping for the transonic blades, is gimped by the fact that if the animation resets you will no longer parry.

Cleaving through hordes then trying to stance swap while a rager runs up to me, only for me to start shaking my glowstick instead of parrying sucks so bad.

I feel like I’m being punished for trying to use this weapons special.

is it a parry? I thought you just pressed attack during that special animation that only plays between moves and you did one of 2 unique attacks depending on the stance.

It plays the block sound when you’re sliding the offhand blade past your face so I assumed it was a parry. It might just be a block, but either way it sucks trying to use it when sometimes the game decides “No, I reset the animation, f*ck you.”

This is why I hate “switching” as a special. I love this weapon but just wish the special did a pointy lunge on button press instead of messing with 2 whole move sets. Too convoluted for the fast paced of this game

I actually really really like the stance dancing, but the problem is coming to a complete stop in order to do it. Make it a swipe, make it the next swing in the combo, make it a block or a parry.

But never make it a stop.

Should let us swap while holding block too. I tend to hold block by default and it prevents the stance swap entirely, works on other special activated weapons!

It really does seem like the easiest thing in the world to change. If you press the special button, you will ALWAYS do the move where you drag the short blade across the screen.

Even if you’re blocking.

Good idea fo another Mark!

I haven’t had issues with it after some practice, but yeah I have blocked while doing the special. When I want to move quickly though I just change the mode while sliding.

Also the anti-armor waves down mode makes you move faster on heavy 1. So I normally do, sprint, slide, charge heavy while sliding, stop sliding, release attack, repeat. You can move pretty far.

The attacks for doing the swap are also unique and seem to do more damage than staying in the mode. I just always use them as a heavy and create some distance with pushes if need be before switching.

The swap is a block, to be fair. Just release block and hit special then go back to holding right click. You’ve got plenty of time to do that in between enemy attacks, especially if you shove first.

It is just a block, yes. The way it works is that if you chain the special after an attack, you get a special transition animation where you hold the blades in front of you and block attacks while swapping, and then you get a special follow-up attack (the dagger poke for going into anti-armor mode and the upward swipe with the sword for going into anti-horde mode) if you attack after the transition is done. There’s no parry on the transonics, for better or worse.

There are 4 melee weapons in the game that do not let you use special from block and two of them are on Skitarii. It’s a weird inconsistency to have and it doesn’t meaningfully contribute anything to balance. I would prefer fewer sources of the game not respecting inputs if FS can help it.

I would like to just be able to hold the special attack button in the middle of a combo to get the special attack off instead of having to press the special > light or special > heavy, personally.

From my understanding, it’s not a parry. It is a block while you’re changing your stance, kina like how the Powe Falchion will block for you, while you’re turning it on or off. You have the slayer stance for hoard clear (Blue lines ascend up the blades). Then you have the anti armor stance, which does like double damage to carapace (Blue lines descend down the blades).
