Lone wolf should be removed from the game

Agreed, the lone wolf node is just a failed attempt to make a zealot-like option on the dog class. Granted the ganger class panned out to be a flop of an attempt to make a glass cannon version of zealot too, but I digress…

The reason for that is due to power creep we have five brass canons already. The glass canon brings nothing the others aren’t already delivering.

Just like when Arbites released. 1/3 nodes were busted, the more better ones even on middle/right bottom of tree. So many Arbites players in quickplay, still strong, didn’t know, no news announcement, just a thread from a forum member. After fixed, felt like a buff. lol 3 weeks to fix his nodes.

Now look at Hive. Bugs again on nodes, probably lesser degree. Lets see the difference when fixed how far it’s potential can go first then can talk about balance on it.

Darktide is a survival game. Highest damage isn’t only metric, it’s also defensive, mobility and dash abilities to get to the next door because rescue mechanic is forgiving. You don’t have to kill everything, only what is in the way to the goal or what you can outpace past them.

Its called an appropriate nerf, its hardly killing the build. The shock mine spam was pretty bad and if people cant live without their shock mines then they need to learn how to play more conservitively and not just whack out a mine everytime they feel pressure.

I see the same with lots of stuff, people panic and pop all their kraks at the first crusher or bulwark, pop health kits or stims as soon as they lose health, empty all their ammo/grenades into hordes and back in to a corner, chorus or shout at the first sign of trouble then dont have it when everyones toughness takes a hit right after theyve used it. Now that people cant just spam shout/chorus they cant just have braindead rotations like some mmo.

The only valid time is a properly built grenade vet which can have serious uptime with a near infinite grenade supply, and they should be the only one imo.

I dont want everyone else to have egregious uptime of special tools.

They really, really, really dumbed down the ganger class it right before release. Which took it from being the most fun I’ve ever had in a video game to being something I would never consider running whatsoever. On the first build we tried, it was just incredible. Not only was there a perfect balance of drawbacks and benefits to each decision you had to make regarding your build, but it was also incredibly rewarding. Before, in the melee glass cannon build (which is what most people would have played since it was soo good) you would take the right keystone, the class stim, and Rampage, which meant you needed to use your stims ASAP to get your keystone rolling, but you also didnt want to spam it because you needed your stim for a burst toughness heal, and to get rampage off cooldown so you could keep fighting, and you needed to keep Rampage rolling as much as you could, since on a glass cannon the damage you do is your survivability, but you also didn’t want to spam it because the initial shout like push was part of the base ability so you needed it off cooldown in case you needed to burst stagger some mobs to help a teammate or something, on top of still having to do everything we normally have to do in havoc, and for all that you were rewarded with high damage, as opposed to now where the ttk’s on ganger are mid at best, and unlike now, the class felt very glass, literally two ticks of any dmg source would kill you, as opposed to now where it feels about as tanky as a dogless arbi at skill cap to me, last I played my ganger could take at least five bullets before I was dead. It was so good…

I explained above why I see that differently, but one thing you said really bugs me:

Why this?
Why not have an Shock Mine Arbites with the same uptime as the Grenade Veteran.
What makes it okay for Vet, but not okay for Arbi?

Wait until you realize he’s been talking about Hive Scum balance in here for the past weeks, but hasn’t even played it. I think he hasn’t played Darktide in months even

Coach doesn’t play or something

it allows one to bash stunned, weakened enemies for 15 seconds. that’s much more than a couple explosions.

i thinks he’s right about people pulling out their special tools at the slightest problem. learning to do more with less is rewarding.

Not IF, as he put it,
the Veteran can use one of THREE different grenades
and throw them around like candy on Halloween.

The mine only stuns.
The grenades kill and can kill mobs or single hard targets just like that,
depending on the grenade
or
of course they can turn the map into London in autum.

I love the Grenadier build and I don’t want them to change it,
but if the Arbites Stun Build was OP, the Veteran Grenadier build is OP as well.

Did they take away your ability to macro on it

Two things can be true at once. Like arbites 60s shocks taking away way too much of the combat loop, and 3 kraks by default being way too generous of a buff.

Wrong

You have 5 full tanks heavily armored with 155mm canon. And then they added this armored fast car…

Fact is… lot of players apply the rule “if it die fast, it won’t hurt you”. I do.
Arbites are a little too much secure. But this is their identity. Nothing wrong in this.

The five tanks are already obliterating anything that comes up. How fast does stuff need to die before having less survivability is a selling point?

Don’t try to convince me… try to convince them (fatshark)
I am all in favor of a giant rebalance fiesta… lot of things are too strong.

So the answer is… it sells to stupid guys like me that takes pleasure when they achieve something that need a part of “skill” and think that all classes have become really too secure.

I have said it… zealot, holy revenant should be behind martyrdom.
CDR nodes that rely on elite / special is the worst idea you can implement. Auric is an elite / special fiesta… what do you expect in term of balance when the trigger is killing an elite / special and there is like 1 millions around you???
Lot of examples of things not right… and I won’t quote what I already said… DS, PG, Boltgun, Psyker…

The last thing arbitrator needs is buffs of ANY kind. Quite the contrary

Because Arbi already has the toughness of a rhino and still hits like a medium sized truck with crazy amounts of stagger tools. Id say its better for balance for Arbi to have this regen-able get out of jail (or more correctly, get enemies in to jail) free card just a little less often.

Can’t say I’ve even noticed the shock mine CD nerf yet, but I guess that is b/c I’ve always played very conservatively with regenerating grenades on both Vet and Arbi. Maybe on Havoc it is no longer viable IDK.

This is actually a sick idea.

Ogryn might bet bonehead implant and its upgrades. Or personality quirks.

Hey @FatsharkLev @FatsharkJulia or anyone working on Darktide.

Can you please make that a reality ? Peoples seems to agree with me and i think it would be better to have a separate talent tree for the dog. Maybe making it in a way that there’s a branch that’ll work around the bleed node, one around the shock node, one around the brittleness node etc etc… I’m sadly not a dev and not very imaginative on what could be done.
