Yeah… That’s basically saying nothing. Instead of “we hear you and will implement the much requested feature”, we’re getting “maybe sometime in the future there will be a poll and we may or may not do anything with the results of that poll”.

Necromunda Hired Gun for the most part was not, in my opinion, a very good game - but hey, even they let you paint your guns.
A never ending great irony to me has always been that I expected weapon customization out of darktide that was going to be comparable to hired gun or even payday 2… what a let down in that department.

also in the game “Space Hulk: Deathwing” especially the enhanced edition had quite some customization. meanwhile Dartkide no cool drip yet, and npcs like commissary selling just little to no weapon skins (only 2) and the cosmetic skins are just bad recolors, nor new models
the skins they added in havoc were good i guess but it feels still low and they should give free customization or at very least some of it that feels enough to play with it

As wonky and unfulfilled as deathwing (even the enhanced edition) feels, it did get the character visuals down perfectly. Everything looks and feels aligned with the theme and premise of the game, which is more than I can say for Darktide.

Just found out that the bolt pistol is the love of my life… But guess what? I can’t recolor it! O=<
I’m stuck with either the standard or the red version from penances…

Seriously though it makes me sad that even basic cloth recoloring isn’t a thing. Gray extra ratshuns on grey canvas backpack makes me a sad ogryn.

Kinda reminds me of really early on in VT2 before the cosmetic store and everything, new body cosmetics got leaked, and it was all just basic recolors in uniform themes (so a red kruber, red bardin, red elf etc)
It’s kind of funny to think they still haven’t moved beyond creating cosmetics this way, the only thing that changed is that they now also take a couple modular pieces like ammo belts or masks off (or put them on)

And in VT2 a big point of contention was that the majority of head cosmetics didn’t go with any of those recolours because neither Fatshark would or the players could recolour them to match the body cosmetic.

Here we go, for those who don’t know - this is what for the drip is all about. I’m not even that great at it.
You can through the options customize color patterns of gear slots.
You can apply new material’s - like leather and fabric
You can apply new patterns, such as shown on my initial post
I don’t think anyone who has downloaded it knows or understands just how much customizability fatshark built into their own system - we are getting a trickle of what is in game.

i’d like to paint my stuff, but tbh i don’t quite care if the other players can’t see my work of art.
(they see the default version of the cosmetics i’m wearing, right?)
as for letting us paint, i think that as long as people buy blatant recolors of the same cosmetics, there’s no incentive for fatshark to let us paint our own.

So, did I get it right that the last feedback on this topic from FS was that they wanna do a questionnaire at some point, but they have to investigate several months to find out the best way to launch a cross platform survey?
