i am having this exact same issue, except it extends to the voice chat functions as well. I’ve triple checked that I have voice turned on but I am unable to hear anybody else and nothing I say is transmitted either. Had multiple games of people who then send me steam messages saying i’m not listening/reading.

Issue Description:
Can’t see, open or use the in-game text chat.
Steps to Reproduce:
do literally anything, be literally anywhere, in any map in the game, still no chat. can’t see other peoples messages, can’t open the chat, can’t write in chat, can’t communicate with other players whatsoever, or receive communications from others. issue has persisted through rebinding chat key, verifying game files, and literally deleting and reinstalling the whole game, as well as trying many, many other things to fix it. (also have a constant problem with error 2001, if that information is relevant to this.)

Since i started playing - to this very moment. every single day, all day.
I have the same issue. Made my own post about it too. included multiple console logs, the launcher log and user config, because i had a feeling it would be asked, considering the VT2 bug where chat could be disabled in the user configs, despite not seeing anything relating to chat in my DT config.
We’re at full release and this is still a problem and isn’t on the list of known issues either. The chat function is fairly integral to co-operative gameplay, especially on higher difficulties.
I have the solution.
Check your NAT settings in your router and lower it from strict to moderate or open. You may have to switch from ipv6 to ipv4 to be able to change that.
