The error will appear as: ```auto Corrupt game data. This error could be caused by a broken install. Try to re-install the game. (Function inflate failed with code FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFD.) ``` This issue is caused by a corrupted texture for some of Bardin’s handgun illusions. We recommend avoiding using Bardin’s handgun until a fix is released. If you last played as Bardin using the handgun you may be unable to launch Vermintide 2, as Bardin will be being selected by default when connecting with the backend. I̶f̶ a̶l̶l̶ g̶o̶e̶s̶ t̶o̶ p̶l̶a̶n̶, a̶ f̶i̶x̶ s̶h̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ b̶e̶ c̶o̶m̶i̶n̶g̶ i̶n̶ a̶ c̶o̶n̶s̶o̶l̶e̶ u̶p̶d̶a̶t̶e̶ t̶o̶m̶o̶r̶r̶o̶w̶ (̶2̶9̶t̶h̶ J̶a̶n̶)̶. **Update:** Unfortunately our fix was unsuccessful, so the PlayStation update will be delayed. ### Issue Type (Required): Crash - During Play ### Issue Description (Required): Keep crashing on multiple maps saying “corrupt game files” something like that, I join friends and I don’t crash as much bit its still not ideal. This has all started happening since the update I have never crashed before. Reinstalled the whole game, first game i launched “The Pit, Champion” I crashed again ---

I can still join other players through lobby browser and seem to not crash it seems to be when i host one myself ---

Can’t even get to the Taals Horn Keep, constant crash after the loading screen. PS4, error: “Corrupt game data. This error could be caused by a broken install. Try to re-install the game. (Function “inflate” failed with code “FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFD”.)” ---

We’ve identified the issue (a corrupted texture with some of the weapon skins for Bardin’s handgun, so please avoid using this weapon for now which should hopefully avoid crashing) and we’ll have a fix coming in an update soon. ---

### Issue Type (Required): Gameplay ### Issue Description (Required): Everytime I boot up the game and get past the cinematic showing off the new Necromancer, without fail I get… Corrupt game data. This error could be caused by a broken install. Try to re-install the game. (Function `inflate` failed with code `FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFD`.) And then the game crashes and closes. ### Steps to Reproduce (Required): 1. Boot up game. 2. Play online or offline. 3. Skip class cinematic. 4. Begin loading into hub. 5. Error shows. 6. Someone posted a [fix on Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/Vermintide/s/MD1EPRTJtt) (weird Bardin bot priority thing). You’ll need a friend with uncorrupted files—reinstalling won’t help. I hope FS will fix this soon ---

The fix was unsuccessful, so a decision was made to release the PS update without. We’re still working to resolve this issue. However, later today (if we don’t run into snags) we’ll be releasing a bandaid solution, which will remove the culprit weapon illusions from Bardin’s handgun for all PS players and prevent these illusions from being re-added until we have a more permanent fix in place. I’ll update here later once we’ve implemented this. Thank you for your patience. ---

Reinstalling doesn’t resolve since I cant unequip the weapon skin. I even tried installing without DLC. 😕 ### Reproduction Rate (Required): Consistently 100% 1. Launch game 2. Offline (no psn for online lobbies to resolve the workaround shared on reddit) 3. Crashes on loading screen. I was checking out the Purple gun skin on ranger vet when the crash happened. The error message reads the same as this post. Now I can’t even start the game, before or after reinstall, to try the new Verminous Dreams maps. 😥 ### Platform (Required): PlayStation ### Player ID (Optional): SpliceAsNice Is there any hope for my offline save file in sight? or a patch resolution? You are, however, able to transfer your online progression to your offline account.** Normally on the same screen with that message you can press Triangle to sync your offline save. Without PSN you can’t access the feature on the console system to Upload/Restore your saved data from the cloud server either. This menu is found in _Settings (cog icon) \> Storage \> Console Storage \> Saved Data \> Saved Data and Game/App Settings on the PS5 console._ So, I tested it out by deleting my Saved Data for the Vermintide 2 and restarting the game. The result was a blank slate and the game booted up as if it were the first time. However, I can at least play the game now.. so that’s good enough for me. ---

@Splice, sorry to hear this. Disabling the handgun skins is a bandaid solution for now while we are trying to resolve the underlying issue. Unfortunately, these skins were not disabled for Offline mode - which was an oversight on our part, apologies for that. We will be able to disable the handgun skins for Offline mode too and apply the bandaid fix, but it will require a backend update, which should then fix this error on startup for you. I don’t have an ETA just yet, but I’ll continue to check in with our backend developers about this. Unfortunately, as you’re an Offline mode player, there isn’t anything more immediate we can do as we can’t access your local save data directly; and deleting your local save data would delete all Offline mode progress. Please bear with us, and hopefully we can get an Offline mode backend fix out soon! ---
