Opening your loadout no longer highlights or shows your active one.
Steps to Reproduce (Required):
Have loadouts created (create 1 or 2)
Open inventory
No loadout is highlighted or marked as active - clicking on any will subsequently cosmetically change them to mark them as active and will stay that way until you close and reopen the inventory again
Hi! There’s been some changes to this recently, and now when you open your inventory, we check that your saved preset matches what’s on the server.
If it matches, it stays highlighted
If it doesn’t, we show the server version instead and the highlight disappears
This prevents the UI from showing the wrong loadout. We understand this change may present some confusion, and we’ll be working on making this clearer in a later update.
Also, I’m not even sure what you meant by that… if you change your loadout while it’s active, it should save the loadout to be the one on the server. So it should always match. I am not aware of any button to switch to not using a loadout without deleting all of them. I don’t know of any way to actually keep a loadout preset that isn’t the one on the server - unless you have no loadouts.
I also can’t confirm or understand what Julia said. When are presets saved on the server and when aren’t they (yet)?
So far, it always happens whenever I open the character screen, regardless if I just loaded the game or returned from a mission. It never highlights one of the presets.
For an alternate datapoint, after redoing my builds from the reset, I have no issues and my active build is properly highlighted on all classes through loading, psykanium, and psych ward.
After speaking with the developer handling this, I’ve received this update:
There are situations where the selected loadout preset doesn’t have a title and/or some emotes equipped. If that is the case, the loadout will generate an error while saving to the backend. This will cause the preset to not be selected, and players should take a look at their cosmetics slots.
We’re investigating why the slots can become unequipped, which is an unintended behaviour.
We’ll better highlight and alert the player for these slot issues in a future patch.
You’re probably being misled by the developer. There is no error saving the loadout. I don’t even know how it’s possible to have a slot not equipped with something? Default pick emotes you mean?
How did a developer tell you this? If you have an empty title - it is still equipped. You still always have something equipped in all the slots.
I also went through my inventory and equipped something else in all my slots. Guess what, it still does not highlight it. All my slots have something equipped, reequipped, nothing is “empty”. Your developer is simply wrong about this.
I directly load the saved loadout from the server. There is NO local storing of the loadout. I equip it - close inventory, open it back up - and it is NOT highlighted.
All my cosmetics are equipped - every slot is filled.
For some reason, it is the default emotes causing the problem. They are equipped and picked, but they cause errors keeping the loadout equipped and active.
Loadouts don’t stay active with the colorless, default equipped emotes. If you reopen inventory, make a change or two - then choose back the loadout you had active before by clicking on it, then the changes are reset and not there - because the loadout wasn’t active.
Once I set the loadout to have anything but the colorless emotes in all slots - it works to keep it active. Once I reopen inventory, it is still marked as active and changes persist between inventory closing and opening.
More info: The titles of all my presets were empty/unequipped, but even after re-equipping all of them and the emotes, the bug persists. When I enter the character screen, none of the presets is selected.
Julia was wrong and so was the developer that she talked to.
I thought I found the problem, and that it was the default unlocked emotes being equipped in any slot. But that’s only for my zealot.
But then I went and checked my Psyker operative and there I did not have this problem at all. So I dunno, that’s what worked to fix it for my zealot at least, equipping a colored emote in all emote slots. By colored I mean the background of it having any color.
Nah, seems I was wrong. Happens on any operative, cuz it happens on my Psyker too. Guess it depends on how crappy the servers feel at any given moment.
Fix is to replace the non colored emotes with any colored one - always works.
Based on the complete miss of what the dev thought was the issue and how hyper specific this bug is - I’m guessing this isn’t gonna be fixed any time soon.
