Just want to say "thanks"

I want this game to be popular. It has gotten the hard part - the crunchy feel of 40k combat - right, but has so comprehensively fallen flat on its face with almost every single other system that it’s an overall failure.

That is the most frustrating part to me. To see something that could be great and just doesn’t because of things that are, in the end, so very easy to fix.

The biggest difference between these two “sandboxes” is Arrowhead keeps throwing in toys. AGS came to the beach prepared where as FS showed up to the beach, built the sandbox and toys while we watched and waited in it.

Important question Badwin, do you play MMO games

Used to, back in the day. Too old for them now, grind ground me down.

But I’m no stranger to shelling out $15/mo for the pleasure of a skinner box. And I miss UO pretty regularly, though I’ve long since lost the drive to spin up a local server for friends once every couple of years!

Why do you ask?

No reason…

I mean it’s good but it’s gotta compete with Dawn of War. Even then I’ll go half way and agree that it’s the best 40k fps game.

That’s an understatement.

I don’t think anyone is really arguing that nor has anyone said “well making new levels is EASY!” so we are kinda straw-manning here.

Wow you must be new here. Anyways long and short is they actually want agency and the ability to make smart builds where itemization isn’t dictated by a series of slot machines.

As stated by others the importance of various states in the game and how even small differences can change the outcome of an encounter leads me to say “disagree”.

All this is subjective and stating it as hard fact is laughable considering just how much of a smash hit HD2 is. There are no jesters to be earned sir, you don’t need to act like a clown.

By my own metric HD2 is the best game ever because it’s the closest we’ve gotten to a multiplayer coop version of the mercenaries games and those games rock. My opinion has as much weight as your opinion in this case.

Lamo.

Is this an Ol-Jakal alt account?

Anyways literally no one is saying that the core gameplay isn’t solid. It’s literally the only thing that is solid. The number one complaint is literally the everything else.

I agree with your sentiment; except for this entire block:

A third of this wasn’t even necessary since it’s you shitting on HD2 – being mad at people for going to play a game that is more respectful of player’s time is pretty amusing.

Yeah, not a smart move from me, i think i gave in to emotions cause im feeling the injustice towards the work FS did and how a lot of people complaining about everything. Well, at least i know there are people like me who still play this game and want it to be good.

One way I judge a game is: if they let you earn the premium currency in-game.

You are misconstruing criticism of DT and FS as wanting the gane to fail. I don’t want the game to fail. I want it to be the best it can be. I want it to be my favorite game ever (which in some ways it already is). But that doesn’t mean if something happens I don’t like I’m not going to comment on it.

We get it. We’re with you. We’re not bitching because we hate the game. Most of us here are complaining because we karking LOVE Darktide and we want it to reach more people to grow the playerbase so that we can continue playing and enjoying the game.

Criticism to this degree can only come from one place and that’s a deep desire to see it become better.

Precisely.

I want this game to succeed, and to stop having systems that give me an ulcer.

Wrong door? I believe you wanted to go that way, sir. Pushes you to Dragon’s Dogma 2 Steam page

I think a reason why people might be protective to a “medium to small” company is less about loving them and more about wanting more of their products.

If FS went down abrubtly, I would be very annoyed by it cause no other company offer similar gameplay. That’s why I’m not as angry as some are here

That’s also a reason. And Lord knows EA or Ubisoft won’t bring something riveting and unique to the market.

When a middle class company goes bust, it’s ideas usually vanish forever.

More than half the people who’re complaining about DD aren’t even playing it I’d wager. Secondly: they’re looking at the MTX and immediately judging (letting their flag of ignorance fly so high that it behooves us to ignore them)… The first game had the exact same MTX setup – that’s a CAPCOM thing, apparently. Even RE4 remake had the same shite. It’s basically all either obtainable in-game or has very little impact. More people should be complaining about how TERRIBLY the game performs… I’ll blame that on the terrible optimization and the RE engine.
